another quasi-horror would be Lain... Especially toward the end. It't not Horror, though...

What I think is funny is that netflix listed "Grave of the Fireflies" under "anime horror"

Watch out for those dead fireflies! They are coming out of their graves and COMING TO GET YOU!! (What a plot that would be :/ Well, I know alot of horrors that have just as bad of plots from giant killer bunnies, to giant killer frogs^^)

I haven't actually seen too many horrors... but I like those with good stories and stuff... mostly psychological thrillers... both the Saws were good (Saw 3 coming out in Oct!) and I've seen all 3 Hannibal Lector movies (not Man Hunter though) and I'd say Red Dragon was the best of the three (even though it was... pretty demonic^^)

I usually avoid horrors for the of some, but some I WILL avoid, such as The Exercist series and anythign involving possessed dolls (aka Child's Play series... *shudders*). Another series that creeped me out from the commercial at night and being alone, was The Hills Have Eyes... my cousin said it was the most disturbing thing she's ever seen >_<

Hmm. I loved Bubba Hotep and the Evil Dead Movies. The Scream series gets a nod, as does Nightmare on Elm St. And Friday the 13th. Texas Chainsaw movies were fun. The Saw Series was a good new couple of films. There are so many to pick from. I love horror...and have quite a nice collection. ^^ (If I do say so myself)

I'm not into horror much but the Japanese Grudge was very scary and Shaun of the Dead was horror but more a comedy romance sort of Horror.

Well, I'm not much of a fan of horror movies (SCARY XD), but I do like Alfred Hitchcock's suspense thrillers. Spellbound is my favorite.

i'd have to say audition and ichi the killer are good for j-horror, saw was good too, also the first nightmare on elm street, the one with johnny depp!

The original Alien was indeed a great sci-fi thriller. I try not to watch it very often because it lessens the suspense factor :p

This is more of a suspense drama than a horror, but I really like The Others.

I completely forgot Alien... I actually preferred aliens, which was more action but Aliens actually scared me, wheras Alien didn't. I love the first 3 movies, the 4th one blew... Also, Nightmare on Elmstreet 1, 3, and New Nightmare (come on, what's not to love about the cast of the original movie getting killed off!)

How did I forget that? I liked the old Haunting, too... I haven't seen the remake, but I hear it sucks... Oh, and

Bob made a good point. Wes Cravens New Nightmare was quite an interesting movie. It's probably one of my favs of the Nightmare series. The plot was pretty wild. I am pretty sure thats the movie with the classic line.

I'm drawing a blank here as far as others go.

Seven and The Excorcist are two of the best movies you can see in the horror/thriller genre with some solid messages. While not spot on theologically especially in Seven they're messages I can respect.

And one of the creepiest movies ever...The original Invasion Of The Body Snatchers.

I'm not a big horror fan, but I loved Ringu, and Ju-on wasn't half bad, either.

I'm really not into them right now, but when I was younger I really liked Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer, and Urban Legend.

I didn't really like Ju-on...Not conclusive enough for me.

Bless the Child was an excellent movie.

House of Wax (the new one) was alright and I don't know if Unbreakable counts as a thriller but it was pretty good.

I prefer movies that mess with my mind rather than turn my stomach (Se7en, Jacob's Ladder, Saw, The Silence of the Lambs, etc.) but there are others that I can appreciate. Killer Klowns from Outer Space, for example, is one of my all-time favorites. Me and my friends watch it every Halloween.
Also, Silent Hill has now taken its place as one of my favorite movies.

I liked the Others. I'm rarely allowed to watch r-rated movies, so I don't intake many horrors. My mom will make the occasional exception though, like with the Nightmare on Elm Streets, Screams, Thirteen Ghosts, and I Know What you Did Last Summer. I reeeeaaaaally want to watch Silent Hill. Can anyone tell me why it's rated R?
I've seen a lot of stinkers though, unforunately. I like the really phsycological(sp?) horrors.

its a christian review of the movie. They can be a bit strickt (sp?) at times though

Nightmare on Elm St. A dude that kills you by twisting up you dreams. That's scary.
Puppet Master. Killer puppets. Not horrifying, but still cool.
Hellraiser. Soul torture. The armies of hell are just as tomented as their victims.
Saw. The depths of the human psyche, the most horrifying place imaginable.
Child's Play. See Puppet Master.

Side notes, I didn't like New Nightmare, Hellraiser:Bloodlines, or Bride of Chucky. They all just seemed to be milking the licence.
Mildly related topic, am I the only one irritated with all the horror remakes over the last few years? Psycho, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Hills Have Eyes, People Under the Stairs, Amityville Horror. Can't anyone come up with thier own ideas?
