What are some of the biggest and most surprising plot twists you've seen in movies? List some here! I'll go ahead and say one...(oh, and please keep everything in spoiler tags. )

I think Saw and Saw 2 had THE biggest plot twists I have EVER SEEN... too long to explain, so if you've seen it, you'd know what I mean^^ Probably the only time I've ever actually dropped a jaw and went "no way..."

i agree with the massive plot twist in Saw that thro me way off and

One of those movies that for some reason, I've never seen... but I already know about that surprising ending (and if I watched it without knowing, I'd be real surprised too!)

Fight Club's.

I liked the multiple plot twists in Frequency, too.

That plot twist was so brilliant that words can't describe it.

As for me...one that isn't as brilliant, but was pretty cool...

[spoiler=Batman Begins]R'as al'Ghul's revelation in Batman Begins was pretty awesome. You know, that whole, the R'as al'Ghul that died wasn't really R'as al'Ghul but the real R'as al'Ghul was Liam Neeson's character. That was great.[/spoiler]

From Sense and Sensibility, that [spoiler] Willoughby had a baby with Brandon's adopted daughter[/spoiler] Well i was happy in a sick way but sad in another way.

A general note to everyone: always be sure to clearly label your spoilers. If these plot twists are really so good, you don't want to ruin them for anyone else. If everyone uses spoiler tags properly, we should be able to have a thread in which people can enjoy selective discussion.

The Crying Game had one of the most famous twists although everyone probably knows what it is by now since it ended up being on the news.

The Village. That was one of the best plot twists I have ever seen.

Yes... I'll agree with that one too. I thought it was funny how a bunch of my friends got scared of it when they saw [spoiler] the pig-headed monster thing, which was just a costume the one guy wore:/ It was NOT scary. In fact, I was laughing because everyone actually found it scary :/ [/spoiler]

Still, the ending was one of those 0_0 "WHAT THE HECK?!" ones... who would've thought?

Another movie I'll add here is The Pledge. Too long to explain in a spoiler what happens but let's just say that the ending was a disapointment from what anyone would've hoped (and expected) for :/

That movie was really interesting because you knew there were going to be a lot of plot twists but you didn't know what they were going to be. I mean, any movie involving the time-space continuoum(sp?) is going to have plot twists, but they really did a great job of pulling them off.

You know, when I saw this thread that was the first movie to spring to mind. Also the Fight Club and Sixth Sense plot twist were really well thought out.

Anyone ever seen Twelve Monkeys, that had a million great twists in it. Also my favourite movie ever made (and Brad Pitt was top notch in it!)

That was definately the BIGGEST I have ever seen

The Village revelation is so incredibly unexpected. Totally up there on the list of Best Plot Twists.

Oh yeah, i forgot about The Game. Yeah that was a great twist.

The Sixth Sense. Duh. Can't believe I forgot that one.

^o^/ I have! So many red herrings, it was great! And then when the climax came, it was unexpected, yet inevitable. Great stuff. My second favorite Brad Pitt film (Fight Club being my first). "Get out of my chair!"

I thought The Others had a really shocking twist at the end. And of course Fight Club.

the others was pretty O.O unexpected and also i forgot to give honorable mentions to Secret window/hide and seek (i use a slash cuz they were basically the same twist) call them cliche but they still cought me off gaurd

I don't know the twist itself was that great, but the big twist at the end of "Machinist" is what all the symbolism in the movie was built around, which is what makes it genius... His insomnia, his filthy appartment that he can never get clean even though he cleans all night... There is so much symbolism in that movie, it almost makes the end of the tunnel tolerable... Almost...

Hide and Seek... well I didn't think it was as similar at first to Secret Window till later... even with Secret Window I didn't think the plot was too exciting, mostly cause I was writing a story at the time that had... a similar plot [spoiler] aka the whole dissociative personality thing, and the "evil" personality was doing all the killing... still hate the fact that both showed dead animals in it v_v [/spoiler]

I wasn't surprised by Sixth Sense, but I did think it was very clever.

My favorite is 12 Monkeys.

Memento was practically a film with nothing but plot twists.

I loved the plot twists in Saw I and II.

I hadn't thought about Memento, but there are a lotta twists in that movie. Good stuff.
