He starred in the TV show Kolchak: The Night Stalker and appeared on other shows like the X Files and Murry Brown.
He had also appeared in movies with Don Knotts.

I remember the original Kolchak. Much better than the new one, if they're even still showing it.

Don Knotts was still pretty active recently.

McGavin was yet another famous product of Spokane,Washington along with
Bing Crosby.

Well Dennis Weaver died at the age of 81 being the third star to die this weekend.
He started as the Deputy Marshal Chester to U.S. Marshal Matt Dillion on the early days of "Gunsmoke" then went on to become Marshal Sam McCloud on the TV show "McCloud". He had also starred on other TV shows.
He also appeared in movies like "Duel" where a unseen truck driver terrorizes Mr Weaver's charactor as he drives across a rural area of California.
He was a environmentalist who built his home using used tires, cans and glass bottles, straw and cement.
He was also a samaritan who helped to donated food and and clothing to the poor.

Chester Goode was Marshal Dillon's sidekick before Festus.
