Rocks. The movie that made blues cool...

Hey, anyone catch the Blue Brothers tribute in Cowboy Bebop? (Boogie Woogie Fen-Shui)

Best SNL movie ever. Best musical on film (Les Mis is best on stage).

What I saw of this movie, I loved. But it had too many swears for me.

Yes, an excellent movie. I agree that there is quite a bit of profanity thrown in the movie, but it didn't ruin the overall fun. The car crashes were one thing, but getting a bunch of people (including the police, firefighters, and the national guard) together to film one scene in downtown Chicago... amazing stuff. :)

Blues Brothers 2000 on the other hand was okay for me, though it just didn't feel the same without John Belushi.

Are you the police?

No, ma'am, we're musicians.

Blues Brothers.....2000?
What the heck is this creation you speak of?
Please do not tell me they used Jim Belushi. He is nowhere near as funny as John was.

Hey, how much do you want for you wife? XD

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes,
it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses. Hit it.

The Blues Brothers movie is awesome! - the music, the car chases, explosions, characters. Minus the strong language pervading it, its a very good musical/movie.

"She's got a cop motor a 440 cubic inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas."

No mater how many times I watch that movie it never gets old.

"You traded the Blues Mobile for a cop car?!"

"No, I traded it for a microphone."

IMO, that movie looks like a crappy seuql with just an intention of making money. What kind of film company would soil the goodness of the original by adding on a crapfest?

Wait a minute...

The sequel was directed by John Landis (the same man who directed the original). It isn't all that bad really and most of original cast have aged well in twenty years.

I might consider giving it a rent.

Blues Brothers is one of my favorite movies of all time. The tunes, the action, the comedy are all awesome. BB2000 is entertaining, still has good music and some funny stuff, but it did come off as an attempt to ape the original's popularity.

"You guys know Minne the Moocher?"
"I knew a hooker once named Minnie Mizolla."
"No, the song!"
