Locke linked me to this, and I asked him if I could start the thread. Anyway, here you go:

All I have to say is...

Wow. Words cannot describe how horrendous this is.

I hereby propose Congress pass a new law to make all movies based on video games illegal.

I have two reasons why I suspect that Bloodrayne is going going to suck.

Uwe Boll.

BloodRayne?? Hunter: The Reckoning? Postal? Fear Effect? Dungeon Siege?? Far Cry? Half-Life? Fallout??? Castlevania?????

What the heck is this guy thinking????

Now Metal Gear Solid, I would actually be willing to go see that...with me playing Snake! I may have the looks and voice for him.

The only thing I don't like is how they would have known actors or actresses playing the roles...AND THEY DON'T EVEN LOOK LIKE THEM, DARNIT!

They should follow The Chronicles of Narnia and hire actors or actresses that actually LOOK like the characters from the games (or books) and can actually act, because seeing who's gonna play for Bloodrayne...just doesn't cut it...at all...she's way to young looking for her.

Makes me sick to my stomach.

There is two theories on why he's doing it: One, he's really loves to make movies regardless on whether they are good or not (like Ed Wood).
Two: (and this is the most cynical) He's making movies in order to have them fail. His company gets its money from German companies who wants these movies to fail because then he can get a huge tax-write-off for them thanks to a loophole in German tax-law. This loophole is soon going to get fixed. If it does, then we'll see if Boll is still going to make movies.

...I wonder...should we see him as a thief?

In 2006 that laws going to be changed.

So we have a year left with Ole Uwe =/

Well, the loophole is legal. And I think we should judge him too much. Or try not to (although some of us would like to, oh how we'd like to).

Well, it's like you said, bigsleep...he may just really enjoy making movies, regardless of what the public thinks. Only he really knows.

If I was ever going to direct a movie based on a game, I would find the most appropriate actor for the role, who actually looks like the character, and also base the plot exactly the same as on the game, because I'm tired of all these silly plots that have nothing to do with the game at all.

Just my two cents.

That isn't possible for a lot of games. How would that have worked for Super Mario Bros.? Granted, it was a crappy movie, but ignoring that...it didn't have much of a plot besides "Move left so you can rescue the Princess." Same thing with Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat...none of these games really had a plot. The writers for these movies kinda had to make one up.

Ignoring that fact, movies based on comics don't hold true either. Spider-Man and X-Men were NOTHING like the comics for the most part, and most people enjoy those movies. So saying that they have a different plot than the game isn't a basis for saying they suck.

I played DOA at few times at the arcades (I think it was no.2). The guy I always used was that Jeet Kune Do guy (forgot his name).

I am glad I watched that trailer, because now I know I won't be watching that film.

Does anybody think this sounds just like the scheme Max Bialystock (played brilliantly by the great Zero Mostel, despite Nathan Lane's revival) hatched in "The Producers" ?

Uwe Boll is a butcher. I no longer view any films he has a part in. I made my mistake once with Alone in the Dark. I still want my 2 hours back.

It does kind off! I doubt however that the finished product would be half as entertaining as Springtime for Hitler

He's considered the worst director in the world who strangely makes money. See the Wikipedia link posted earlier. Nobody likes him and yet he still makes movies.

It's because people actually go to see these movies still. Everyone here should deffinetly boycott Uwe Boll, not that it's hard to do or anything.:eyeroll: Michael Madsen and Ben Kingsley really have gone low to get in on this movie.

Another videogame movie to be ruined. And it happens to be one of the best fighting games out there at that... DOA is one of those games that should never be made into a movie. It was just destined to become a Charlie's Angels with kung fu, because no serious director would ever pick up the license.

So basically, he's like the 4Kids of Hollywood?

Castlevania?????

Ohhhh, and I actually wanted to see one! :cries:
