This is a thread for all those popular myths concerning pop culture and
pop icons that you read or hear about.
The object is to hopefully to burst some of the myths.
For example:
*Jerry Mathers(Leave To Beaver)died in Vietnam.Actually Jerry Mathers
is not only alive and well but also starred in the fortunately short lived
updated sequel Still The Beaver.

*Paul McCartney died and was replaced by a look alike.Actually what
happened was that McCartney took a hiatus in Scotland when all the
Paul Is Dead rumors began.

I love that site, GP.

-Mr. Rogers was NOT a Marine, a SEAL, an army sniper, or anything remotely related to the military. He never served in the military at all.

-The geeky kid on The Wonder Years did NOT grow up to be Marylin Manson. He was played by Josh Savanio. Marilyn Manson's real name is Brian Warner.

Man, I spent all day at work trying to convince everyone that all the needles and razor blades in the Halloween candy was an uban legend. Snopes says I was wrong.

I kind of wish the Mr. Rodgers story was true. It would be a good story about God changing some one, since he was a minister.

Sorry - I have to chime in on this one. Let's not derail the train of thought too much though, ok?

The RAZOR blades were not made up, however there are no police reports on file anywhere indicating that there have been any injuries from them. The real sad part of that is the poison part. There have been cases reported of children poisoned via halloween candy BUT (and this is a very large but) EVERY single one of them turned out to be tracked back to a family member, not a stranger. Proving once again that there is no evil bad enough that some human somewhere would not stoop to it.

Oh I read the revew of the latest book on the Beatles in Time magazine yesterday
and one thing that was true about them was the fact that Ringo WAS a loveable
goofball!

So the story about John Wayne being offered the role of Matt Dillon on Gunsmoke is false after all.
