I really can't figure out what genre to stick it in either, but it looks interesting. I always hated reading the Grimm version of fairy tales as a kid, I thought they were awful and mean and didn't make any sense.

Isn't there a comic series that uses a similar idea of looking at the darker side of fairy tales? I think it's called Fable...not that I'm endorsing it.

Definitely looks interesting. I'll probably go see it.

Hmm... So is this kinda like the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen?

Good comparison. I'm guessing it will be, except with fairytales. (Which are a sort of classic literature in their own right.)

I do know the original Brothers Grimm fairytales do tend to be on the darker side, so this movie will bring that out I guess... it looks sooo good thought ^^

I can't figure it out from the preview. Looks like a fright-flick. But who knows? I certainly don't.

I'm wondering how this movie got passed me since I like to know what movies are coming out ( yahoo movies baby :thumb: )
I barely found out about the movie a week ago from a commercial.

Anyone else think the commercials are a little unpolished? Eh I could be wrong and the movie is just like the commercial.

I think the comercial is cool, but they need some new ones to show more scenes ^^

Just one thought --------- Damon looks really bad with blond hair.

I only saw one commercial, and I was intrigued. However I'm extremely, extremely jumpy....so can anyone tell me exactly what sort of genre this is? What the premise is?

If you watch movies with Shatterheart, I can't believe it would be all that bad.

I think the movie looks very promising. Some of their fairy tales were very grim indeed. Lots of nasty stuff happens in them, so this movie could go in any direction.

Try plugged in at http://www.family.org. I don't always agree with their opinions, but it gives you a good overview of exactly what you're getting into, without too many spoilers.

Ok, I just found out the other day that Terry Gilliam worked on this. So I am totally going to see this at some point in time.

Yup. Thought it was lousy. Furthermore, they felt some need to take a little swipe at Christians.

Heh. The second I saw the trailer and it said, "A Terry Gilliam film," I knew that I had to see it. I'm sure it won't be the best movie I've seen this year, but I'm confident it won't be the worst.

The only way it could get better would be if John Cleese played the villian!

John Cleese makes everything better.

Welcome to Hollywood.

I really want to see this movie now...I probably won't get to though for lack of money. Waaah. ;_;

But yeah, I'm curious...is it horror or comedy or maybe a little of both?

It's a bit of both. Kind of a dark comedy, but not really horror horror. It was really hard to understand some of the characters, but it was a pretty good movie.
