Um.....should this go somewhere else? Wasn`t sure.

Anyways, I planned on maing this thread for awhile. Who would win in a fight, do you think: The Hulk or The Thing?

I`ll express my opinion later. I have to go eat a Krispie Kreme.

Hulk by a longshot. Hulk was like 10 times stronger then Thing. Read the comics where Hulk was the only hero strong enough to tear off Onslaughts armor. He was a beast.

There is a comic book where Thing and Hulk fight each other. I don't know who won though.

I like the Ever-Lovin' Blue-Eyed Thing a lot better by just about every aspect of the characters, but the Hulk is a lot stronger. In a slugging contest - which is the preferred method of combat for both subjects - the Hulk would win easy.

Edit: There have been several comic book clashes between the Thing and the Hulk. I think the Hulk has one every one but one - a story from a time when the Hulk was comparatively weak (and he was gray - what's that about?) and the Thing was more powerful and the leader of the FF. I don't know the details.

I have to go with Hulk myself.

I think the Hulk and the Thing did fight in the comics; Hulk won.

Is Thing stone-based? I wasn`t sure since I`m not a huge FF fan. I can just imagine Hulk pounding thing and seeing rocks fly everywhere.

Marvel did this back in the 60's. The Hulk won and it took the combined force of the Avengers and the Fantastic 4 to defeat him. The Hulk was stronger, but the others had a strong advantage in reasoning ability

Oh, really that`s cool. Is that the $2,000 famous ultra rare issue a guy got ripped off on at eBay and took the other guy to court? You`ve porbbly never seen that.

The Hulk won in the Comic Series where they had a fight, so I would have to go with the Hulk. But only the Hulk that gets stronger when he gets madder.

The Hulk was gray in the first 10 comics or something like that, but the gray didnt print out right on a consistant basis, so they changed him to be green.

Don't know about that... this was in a graphic novel format I read as a teenager that I got from the library (so long ago, it might be a collectors item in itself).

I'm not a collecter... I was one of the idiots that used Silly Putty on the comics

You can always wait for the HULK to calm down, and turn back into a normal guy. Then Clobber him.

Banner was far more intellegent then Thing. Face it, it would never happen. They already did there fights in the comics and more often then naught, Hulk won. Read up on your comics my man.

Baner may have been super-smart, but I tohught when he was Hulk he couldn`t control himself.

That's varied from time to time.

There was a time when the Hulk form had all of Banner's intelligence and personality and he switched to human form when got irrational.

Actually, in the later comics, Hulk and Banner got completely separated. This meant that the Hulk DIDN'T turn back into a normal guy. And Shatterheart is right, there was also a time when the Hulk had Banner's smarts too, and Banner is quite a bit smarter than ol' Ben Grimm.

So any way you slice it, the Thing gets stomped.

Green Man with Purple pants would win simply because the angrier he gets the stronger and larger he becomes :/

The THing.....he's just a big guy made up of Orange rocks :/

I dont care if the comics stated he won, I say in modern times the thing could beat the hulk. The hulks all like- OOOH LOOK AT ME IM A BIG DUMB MONSTER!

and the things like- hey! I'm an ugly human!

ugly humans beat big dumb monsters any day =)

If you like a character or not, does not effect how strong they are. Do yourself a favor and actually read a few comics. You will see that Hulk would own Thing. Your logic would be like saying that you could walk up and beat a Grizzly bear in a fist fight. Not gonna happen.

Well Shatterheart, that`s his opinion. If he wants to think that the weak puny thing could devour the Hulk, let him. It`s his own foolish imagination.

Eh no need calling anyones opinion foolish. I am just saying...liking a comic character does not make them stronger. Heck I love The Punisher, but one on one with like Hulk...he would lose. (Less he was far away dropping bombs on him or somthing)

i have seen both movies and i seriously doubt that the thing would be able to win against the hulk. i mean it the hulk is like possibly as strong as superman or sumthin. i vote hulk by a longshot.
