Now which Aslan strikes you as more realistic?
Before: BBC tv series Aslan
After: Walden Media's movie version

hmmm.... I say the first one!!! Doesn't he look so cuddly-wuddly?!
...
O alright... I suppose the second. The first Aslan's whiskers are all twisted and sticking at weird angles
Also, which kids do you think look most like Lucy, Edmund, Susan and Peter?
Edit; Garrr, it ain't working!! aah well, back to good old attachments

The movie version kinda look like concept art, maybe he'll look different in his final form.
I'm afraid I haven't really been looking into this movie too much, how are they going to portray Aslan? Will he be CG? Or something animatronic, or mebbe even a real lion?

Last time I checked it was going to be a combination of the live-action and the CG. And if I had to speculate some animatronic may end up being used for close-ups. They certainly have the budget to do all three.

I'm glad they're putting more money into it than the other movies I've seen; it'll help it be more realistic.
I think the first Aslan has a softness about him which is cool, but he lacks that sort of kingly appearance which he has in the books. In the second he looks more like a photographic lion, but his eyes don't seem to have the same depth of expression as the first.
I reckon the children from the first pic look like they fit the tone of the writing from the books, but the new kids look like they'd fit more into an actual movie adaptation -a bit more, um, cool? Hey wait a minute... they're wearing the clothes from the wardrobe!
Maybe if the previous kids were wearing the furs they'd look better.

The tiny cliip of Aslan that was available through "Ain't it cool" didn't really look like that. . . Me am sad.
(Oh, and Talame, I too loved the old Aslan. I just wanted to huggle him for hours on end. And just as a miscellaneous piece of information to make all members laugh, I once was DESPERATELY in love with the young man who played Peter on the old BBC Chronicles. Such a hottie.

*pats Mangafanatic head*
That's alright... deary, we won't laugh
*hides chuckles behind hands*
Anyway, I have that clip on my comp, and I think Aslan looks SO STINKING COOL!!!! Esp when he walks up with the sun behind him... granted, you can't see much but what you CAN see is definitely awe-inspiring.

It's gonna rock!! Man, Talame and Tintin, you guys have got me all excited about it when I wasn't before, and I was happy that I wasn't, but now I am
But it does look sweet so far, particualrly the Ice Queen with her polar bear coach... but thats only conceptual art, in the BBC she only had some horses.

It looks exciting! I really hope they do a good job.
I like the 2nd Aslan better. After all, Aslan is
not a tame lion.

Ah, beaten to this line. That is also why I like the second better: one of my favorite elements of the Narnia series was always that Aslan
wasn't a cute and cuddly friend (not that we
ever see that in people's theology). But ultimately it will come down to how Aslan moves and acts.

Which is good because he's supposed to be an alegorical representation of Jesus, and Jesus isn't a tame savior... As for the lions, I like the new one better only for 1 reason: He'll be able to fight...
As for the rest of the things, I like pretty much EVERYTHING about the new ones better that the BBC... The BBC version was so cheesy... The same goes with the Animated Fellowship/Towers combo and return of the king verses New Live Action Lord of the Rings ... The formers put them on a level with every other fantasy novel, the latters allow them to be treated with respect.
On that topic, I think I like the Disney "Hitchhiker's Guide" better than the BBC's, too, even though I only saw like 10 minutes of the BBC's version... And I DID see the BBC version (ten minutes worth, anyhow) before I read the books...
