I was wondering why no one did a post on The Polar Express.
I wanted to see it before Christmas but because of late mintue shopping on Christmas Eve I had to wait today to see it.
I reason I wanted to see it was because its a computer animated movie which in a way it looked like a real movie with real people.
I also wanted to see it because my grandfather on my father side was a railroad man. He was a engine fireman who shoveled coal into the boiler and he later became a conductor on passenger trains.
He died when my father was 12 years old in Richmond VA from a heartattack while out of town from his family.
His oldest son later tried working on the railroad but gave it up when he almost fell off the top of a freight train while it was moving while he was checking for toubles.

Polar Express looks to be a nice family movie. Makes a welcome change to violence and gore.

Hope you enjoy it"

Well after more thought here is something to think about the movie.
I believe it will become a Christmas classic for years to come.
The one thing the movie pointed out is how as we get older and become adults we tend to lose the suspends and spirit of Christmas.
The thought of helping those less fortunateness and making friends as children.
The sound track has a lot of old songs by famous singers and new music that might even be spiritual.
Scenes that will raise your spirits and take you on a ride and have fun.
If you haven't seen it now you may have to wait to next Christmas to see it.
Who knows It might get a award for as best animation and for music.

Saw it. Wonderful. Especially the visuals. Tom Hanks does a really good job.

I also saw it. Dubbed in Finnish, so i can't say anything about Tom Hanks..

Great movie, but there was one thing that annoyed me (and my brother). The Santa Claus was some kind of a god in the movie.. I mean, he was glowing white and so on. Did anyone notice this but me?

I thought it was an awesome movie!!
As for Santa being like a god....

I read on a Christian review site (and can see it in the movie itself, having watched it as well) that the conductor is symbolic of Jesus, the Ghost the Holy Spirit and Santa => God the Father. But that might just be reading in too deeply. ;)

Yeah maybe.. so is that a bad or a good thing? I don't think that children can think it that way, so i think it's bad..

It would be great if the movie was actually about the 'true meaning' of Christmas and not the 'fake true meaning' they present in the movie.
