has anyone seen the show "Monk"? It's about a detective, but he also suffers from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. He has phobias of germs, height, depth, milk, insects, snakes. And things must be symetrical for him. It is absolutely hilarious and does not mock or in make in fun of OCD patients. The actors are really great and well put, they are perfect for their roles. His disorder enables him so "see" things that other people do not see in Crime Scenes, such as solving extremely hard cases and... well.... its just so amazing. The plot is incredibly origional and the show is absolutely amazing

One of my best friends is obsessed with that show...oh my word, it's amazing. Then again, she was obsessed with Get Smart and I Love Lucy for a little, I think.
Yeah, I have seen it obviously, and it is REALLY funny. It's a little like Diagnosis Murder but a lot more modern. It does have a bit of language and sometimes it can be inappropriate. Oh, yeah, Shawna does wear some slightly low cut tops too, nothing I'd call risque though. :thumb:

I love that show. It *is* really funny and interesting, but I think it also somewhat realistically portrays what it's like for someone with OCD.

Poor Monk. He means well.
I really like the show. The one where he meets his brother and has to solve the case with the pies was brilliant. Then again, pretty much all the episodes are brilliant. To quote Gir:
"I love this show."

I recently got into this show. My dad and I watched the New Year's Day marathon on USA. ^^;; I think this show is incredibly creative, although there are a few episodes where I can see the plot a mile away, like the one about his wife--"Mr. Monk and Mrs. Monk"--or the one about the chocolate bars. However, most of them are pretty challenging and creative. Definately one of my favorite shows now.

By the way, has anyone taken the "Are You Monkish?" quiz? I'm not Monkish in the least. XD

Where's this quiz of which you speak, that I might take it myself? :)

Heh heh, I'm a little Monkish ^_^

I love the show myself, I was introduced to it about a year ago, and I'd really like to start collecting the DVDs... I'm also probably one of the rare few that actually likes Natalie... she's just adorable, and has anyone else noticed that whenever her daughter is around, she sort of stretches Monk into doing something he normally doesn't do? I mean really, he doesn't freak out half as much when she's around...

Monk is a great show. I think we've only had season one and two screened in Australia at insane times like 6:30pm! so I missed the majority of the 2nd season. I hope the dvds come cheap!

I tested as a little monk-ish too.

I do enjoy the show. The idea of an OCD detective is certainly original. Obviously, they exaggerate things for comedic effect and whatnot. But well done.

Sankyuu, Ash-sensei.~ ^_^ Apparently I'm "a little more Monkish than most"...

My gosh, I LOVE this show. SO MUCH. It's the only TV show I really watch with any regularity . . .

P.S. I scored as a little Monk-ish.
