It may be a little stupid to do this since I don't plan to go see this movie AT ALL but I want to hear your opinions on this Catwoman movie, whether you seen it or not.

My take? Halle Berry is great and all but I really think this movie is not going to cut it. But what do I know, I haven't seen it. :lickbash:

upon seeing the previews, i noticed catwoman's lack of clothing. that was enough to make me not wanna see the movie... it just kinda seemed like they were using sex to sell the movie, and i dont wanna see that. anyways, thats my opinion, anyways:)

YES!! That's exactly how I feel!!

It's like "Hey, come watch our movie because we got Halle Berry in a leather cat suit! The movie sucks but uh...WE GOT HALLE BERRY IN A CAT SUIT! She has a whip too! Uh...did we mention leather?" :brow:

Yeah, that's the impression I get from it :shady:

umm I had to read and explain to a japanese student what was in an newspaper article explaining catwoman. Some lines like

booty enhancing (it was in the article)

come to mind. . The japanese student thought the movie sounded stupid after understanding the article.

Basically, according to the article, the movie has no redeeming qualities unless you think seeing
"Halle Berry in Leather" is cool and somehow redeeming... . yuck.

Haven't seen the movie, nor intend to either.

It's gonna suck big time. Besides it being already an absolute joke, nobody is a better catwoman than Michelle Pfeiffer.

I think it is going to suck, only to the people who aren't sick guys who just want to watch the movie for you know what, are going to think it sucks! So I do not want to see this film, I think even if I wanted to see it(not saying I do) My dear mother wouldn't let me...she is good about those things... :)

Roger Ebert's review more than adequately expresses my opinion. He gave it one star out of four (very low), and here's a sampling of what he said:

""Catwoman" is a movie about Halle Berry's beauty, sex appeal, figure, eyes, lips and costume design...Everything else is secondary, except for the plot, which is tertiary. What a letdown."

"...Catwoman," a film that was born to be rated R, has been squeezed into the PG-13 category to rake in every last teenage dollar."

Oh, and Catwoman is NOT Patience Phillips! Selina Kyle is Catwoman! And not only did she not have any supernatural powers (the lack of which, imo, made her cooler), but she had a far better costume than Halle Berry's impersonation.

Also, a note to movie-makers: It's one thing to offend the critics with a movie. It's another thing to offend intelligent audiences. But it's ANOTHER thing to OFFEND THE COMIC-BOOK FANS! I haven't run across a single fan who didn't think this movie looked awful.

Please, please let there be NO Catwoman 2.

LOL!! I just read a couple of reviews on this movie and one dude was like "I would have rather went to work than to see this crap." He said that the movie probably would make it to television faster than he could get in the parking lot to his car. That is so funny to me

LOL!!!!!

Yeah, basically I think I am getting that you all like the thought of this movie, right? j/k....

Let me say my favorite quote for these kind of cases

"DON'T TOUCH IT!!!! KILL IT!!"

Thanks.

Yeah, you try explaining the words "booty" and "cleavage" as a guy to a japanese girl the same age as you. . . yeah you get the picture.

I looked cleavage up in japanese and told her that in japanese.
booty I said was a bad way of saying butt. so, she knows not to use it. Then I just kind of stumbled through the other words, like catfight...

The good news was that after understanding it all, she thought the movie was stupid too. :)

About movies being turned into video games: I always felt that it is one of two ways. Either it is a good movie that makes an awful video game or it is a good video game that makes an awful movie. Very rarely do I see both a good movie AND video game.

Booty is a bad way of saying butt? Interesting.. you should talk to my mom more

Actually I'm not sure where exactly she stands on it... let me go check.

Okay she said butt was worse! rofl

hmm. . . Butt and booty are on the same level in my family. After hanging out with this group though. I have a sense for what is more acceptable. Besides the girl is not the kind of person who would even bring up "butt's" in anyones presence anyway. . .

My fams way of seeing:
butt is more harsh, booty more suggestive. neither appealing.

okay basically yeah, booty and suggestive goes along well with how they used it that catwoman article.

:mutter: why did they waste the time and money making the movie!!!! :mutter:

First of all Hale Berry was the worst possible casting choice for this role. Second if you have ever seen The Crow you will know that the entire begginning intro is exactly the same except they replaced the word crow with cat. Its a disgrace to modern cinema and I wish misfortune to its cheap untalented creator.

But the Batman comics came BEFORE the Crow comics, right? Catwoman dying and being brought back was in the second Batman movie, which I thought came before the Crow movie (but like I said, it is more about which comic came first)I just gotta know... Does Batman show up in this movie at all? Are there any batman vs Catwoman fights? Anything to explain how she could be anything but a villainess?

What does that have to do with the movie? The Crow movie came out before Catwoman and the begginning intro wasnt in the comic at all. The movie doesnt stay true to the comic at all. U wanna see a good cat woman see Batman Returns.

I just checked Yahoo: Movies and the review averages went up from where they where over the weekend or whenever it was I checked them (used to be reviews: D-, user reviews: D... it's now up to D and C for those)....

Best quote so far from a reviewer:

Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times wrote:"The director, whose name is Pitof, was probably issued with two names at birth and would be wise to use the other one on his next project."

That about says it all.

My personnal opinion is that it would be more fun to impale your bottom on a giant cactus, then go see this movie (sorry my spelling's bad, im either a bad typer, or its because im on 2.5 hours sleep).
