I found out there's going to be a sixth season, but it's supposed to be shorter than the others.

Yumie wrote:
I definitely didn't come to the conclusion that you all did in thinking that what happened at the end with Kate and Jack was a flash forward. I think all that was what was currently happening and the rest of the episode was Jack's flashback to their last day on the island. I think they got off. Since they've never done flash-forwards before, it wouldn't really make much sense to me the other way. What do you guys think?

I concur, the Charlie death scene almost ruined the whole thing for me! He practically committed suicide! The water wasn't comming in fast as you said and even if his concern for for Desmond, they had underwater gear that they could get at fast AND all he had to do was close the door from the outside (outised=where Desmond was) and the pressure from the water comming in would have sealed it plenty well enough for them to get full gear on and get out.Gypsy wrote:HOLY CRAP!!

And the Charlie thing bothers me too - why didn't he just jump on the other side of the door? Even if it didn't seal shut from the outside, the water wasn't coming in *that* fast. I don't want him to be dead, but if he really is dead, that was kind of a crappy way to have him die. Drowning is fine, but that was kind of self-imposed drowning.
Anyway ... yays for Penny! She's going to be everyone's hero, I bet. And that van speeding on to the beach thing ... classic and one of my favorite Lost moments so far.
So yeah ... mind-bending finale, and I'm glad of it, because my interest will be kept until Feb.
My semi-solid theory is that maybe no one dies of old age on the Island. Perhaps this could be why Richard hasn't aged a bit since he first met Ben. It could also have something to do with the fact that both John and Rose were cured, I don't know. The only thing that doesn't add up is that Ben aged once he was on the Island, along with his father, so I'm not really sure what that's about.
This is a very interesting theory, it definitely makes more sense than a flashfoward. Even though I'm having slightly disconcerting memories of Alias season three (JJs other show), in which Sydney ended up three years in the future with amnesia. At which point it all went downhill and there were zombies and killer weather balloons O_o
I definitely didn't come to the conclusion that you all did in thinking that what happened at the end with Kate and Jack was a flash forward.
Lol, me too. "Hi there! I'm your long lost mother you've been separated from since birth (not that I have any proof to validate this for you except the word of a known profuse liar (Ben)). Now, help me tie your father up!"
the_lizardqueen wrote:
Oo, and Alex and Rousseau, it's about (freakin') time! Gypsy wrote:
Jack's dad was mentioned TWICE. Once, as the presciber of Jack's drugs, which I'm pretty sure was actually written by Jack, and secondly, in Jack's drunken rant in the hospital hallway. He told them to find his father and compare father-son drunkeness - implying that Jack's father was still alive at that point in the flash. But ... I'm pretty sure Jack's dad is very dead on island, which would still make him dead off island, wouldn't it? It's gonna rot my brain away thinking about it, I think. The presciption thing is kinda meh, but Jack really sounded like his Dad was currently somewhere else in the same hospital. Granted, he was pretty drunk, but smashed enough to think his dad was still alive? His dad's death is why he crashed on flight 815 in the first place - not an easy thing to forget even if you're tanked.
