OK first of all I'm a HUGE disney fan!!! love disney. but the best movie is PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN!!!! I LOVE JOHNNY!! and i love Beauty and the Beast, Finding Nemo, Lilo and Stich, Emporers New Groove.........so many more ........

Well, I don't really watch too many Disney movies, but my all time favorites of what I've seen:

Pirates of the Carribean - Awesome movie on so many levels. It just does so many things right. Good story, great action, and well acted characters. (Well, most of them were well acted anyways.... I'm not naming names but...)

Aladdin - I picked up the DVD recently on an impulse buy, and I enjoyed every second of it! Easily the best or close to the best Disney cartoon ever!

The Emporer's New Groove - This is another one I thoroughly enjoyed. The humor and pacing was very well done.

Animated: Mulan owns them all!! It has awesome animation, a great story that isn't too cutesy or sappy, extremely catchy songs, and Mushu is very funny. Did you know Jackie Chan plays Shang in the Chinese dub of the movie? The special edition DVD has a music video of him singing "Be a Man".

Live Action: Probably Mary Poppins. It will always be classic with memorable songs and a great performance by Julie Andrews.

I'm with you Spirit Wolf. I think I watched that movie 500 times before I was 5. I memorized it at one point! And the soundtrack was the first CD I ever bought. ^^;

Well, I was obsessed with the Lion King when I was in Grade 4 and Beauty and the Beast had a massive, lasting impact on my art style (traces of the Beast's character design still pop up in my art to this day). So they'd definitely have to go on my list. I also briefly really, really liked Oliver and Company.

Of the more recent stuff, I'd have to vote for The Emporer's New Groove and Lilo and Stitch. *glomps Stitch*

Favorite animated movie: The Hunchback of Notre Dame (I loved the music in this movie so much that I bought the sheet music book for it back when I was taking piano lessons)
Favorite live action movie: Pirates of the Caribbean.

Alladdin deserves an honorable mention, because I was quite obssessed with it for a while. I really liked almost all of the older Disney animated movies, like mid-90s and before, with the exception of Snow White and Pinnochio. I've never been that crazy for Snow White or Pinnochio, but I don't really know why.

I need to re-see alot of the old Disneys someday. I loved them as a little kid but now I haven't watched them in years. Really not many of Disney's newer films are much good IMO, if any good at all. And their sequels almost always stink. The Lion King and Miracle will probably always be at the top for me (I'm certain Narnia will join them once I see it), and after that probably comes Remember the Titans and The Santa Clause, and those are all newer, but for their animated films especially, most of their good ones are the old ones. At least with those, they had a certain magic not present in most of their new films, and they were all hand animated. They put alot of hard work into those films and made them very high quality. Unfortunately, Disney, like many American animators, have gotten sloppy in recent years and things don't look nearly as good.

Goofy Movie, Bambi (hey, Disney invented the layered cells thing, using glass paneling to make multilevel backgrounds... You have to give him props for that), Alice in Wonderland...

If we're going to count pixar, then Toy Story, Toy Story 2, Monsters Inc., Incredibles...

I have to throw in my vote for Beauty and the Beast, I still love that movie and watch it frequently.

But my absolute favorite is The Great Mouse Detective.

And The Emperor's New Grove is hilarious, especially in that it makes fun of itself. My dorm floor's quote last year was 'Bad llama' *whap*. XD

For live action, Pirates of the Caribbean has it hands down for me. There are others I like, but that one just takes the cake.

And for Pixar, Finding Nemo and Incredibles.

I completely forgot that movie. It's great! (Particularly for Holmes junkies) I love the fights in it and Vincent Price is a hoot. It seems a bit more adult now that I watch it...

The Great Mouse Detective is geared more for adults than a good deal of the other movies. It's what got me into Holmes (I've read the series twice). Plus the books that TGMD is based on are cute too, there are 3 or 4 of them by Eve Titus.

Didn't Disney make Treasure Island back in the day? That was a great movie.

Also, I think they made Tron - one of my favorite movies of ALL TIME. End of line

Didn't they also make the Not Quite Human series? That was pretty fun.

The Sword in the Stone was also a great favorite of mine, so I have to mention it. The Wizard's Duel was fantastic.

And while it's a bit young for me now, how about the Ducktales movie (whatever that was called)? Man, I used to love the Disney Afternoon shows. Ducktales, Tailspin, Darkwing Duck... classic.

I will also say that when I was a little tyke, I watched the movie Dumbo approximately 1 billion times (my parents will attest to this). So while I probably would not watch it for more than nostalgia as an adult, I have to say that it was definitely a quality movie and when I get to be a parent I will be sure to get it for my kids. Seriously, it's one of the greats.

When I get home, maybe I'll put some others in.

Yes! XD A friend of mine in high school for some reason memorized the squirrel part. And she would perform it for our flute section in band, using her ponytail for the squirrel tail. She could do it spot on, and would have us nearly wetting ourselves from laughing.
