Yeah, actually, I never played the game, but read tons and tons of review and synopsis of the game, plus got alot of feedback from all my friends who played the game, so with all the info, I understood the plot, which was good mind you, but Cloud's fight against Sephiroth was pretty short though, what a pitty, it should of been longer, oh well...

FF7: AC was okay. I didn't really think of it as much a "good movie" as a "mediocre movie with nice action scenes."

And nice they were.

I agree with that quick assessment.

Kawaiikneko wrote:I found this great analysis article of the movie and FF7 that explained alot of the stuff, especially the unmentioned things that came out in a sorta FF7 novel in Japan. Hang on let me get that... http://faqs.ign.com/articles/657/657331p1.html
Here you go. Every possible question answered.

Having now read it, I can say that it was interesting. Some of the minor issues I believe that they overthink, but they also had a lot of good information. It was interesting to note their list of Limit Breaks... but they don't think Cloud used Omnislash on Bahamut. I still hold that his repeated spinning hits were very Omnislash-reminiscent.

Also, I had no idea that anyone thought the Sephiroth part of the movie was a hallucination. That's a very interesting interpretation.

Indeed.

Even if it wasn't a "good movie", it frags the action scenes of ANY movie to date.
The forest scene was, simply, pure genius.

He didn't. It very clearly was Climhazzard, since it is an exaggerated upward slash.

After rereading their Limit Break assessment, I suppose I can accept that. It really has been far too long...

This is prolly My favorite Movie of 2005!

Not because The plot was so well writen or the characters so fleshed out, It was all cause of the action, In fact I'm am going so far as to entitle this movie my favorite action film.

On another note: Why is this not your typical FF7: AC thread?

Uh...sorry if this is off topic, but did I miss the American release date or something? Because that would be really sad...I've wanted to see this for a long time! So was this something you guys were able to torrent, or is it really out in the States already? O_o

I for one know it`s not out in the states. Why? Because I don`t have it. i have been dying to see this movie since i first heard about it in early 2003. Just one delay after the other.

I have a few questions which i would like to be answered in spoilers.
1)Who is the guy in the wheelchair?
2) Does Sephiroth come back or is their fight a flashback?
3) Which towns or cities besides Midgar appear in the movie?
1) Who is the guy in the wheelchair?
Rufus.
2) Does Sephiroth come back or is their fight a flashback?
Sephiroth does come back.
I got those two answers straight from the FAQ link that was posted earlier. Having not seen the movie yet, I can't answer the third question.

None of you have missed the American release, it hasn't happened yet. No official release date has been announced from Squenix. It was supposed to come out in September, then November, then January now we're looking at *maybe* mid March.

Tom these are the places other than Midgar that are in the movie. It's not really a spoiler of anything so I'll just say them. Briefly the outside of the Northern Cave, the wasteland outskirts of Midgar, and the forest outside of The Forgotten Capital.

I presume because this wasn't a hype thread, but a thread for people who have actually seen the film. While I'm addressing you, welcome back.

In case you doubt, Tom Dincht, he's right on both questions.
I'm really a bit surprised that people think Sephiroth was a flashback.
Why would they think Sephiroth is a flashback? Wasn't the purpose of the clones to bring back Sephy in case he died?

I will repost a link, courtesy of Kawaiikneko:
If you find the question regarding Sephiroth, you will see a certain degree of explanation as to where people get that theory. I personally don't see why you would think that, but I suppose some people are just convinced he can't come back.
*thinks about it*

Nope, it'll never happen. *sigh* I guess I'll just have to watch it on the computer for now.

I watched this last night. And I have been DYING to talk to people about it since then. So, here goes. XD
I REALLY loved it! The animation and action scenes were stunning, and I loved how it opened. The nostalgic scene with Red and his two cubs was GREAT! Marlene was so cute, and the fight between Tifa and Loz (I was waiting and waiting to see that scene!) was SO fantastic!! I cracked up after Loz's cellphone rang with the victory theme...lovely musical cameo. XD Also, I really loved Reno and Rude in this one. I've always liked Reno for some reason, and he and Rude made for some pretty witty comical relief in AC. XD I especially liked the part where Rude almost got his sunglasses broken...Hahahaha!!

I must say, I didn't think my other favorite FF characters got enough screen time. Yuffie didn't come in until much later, and poor Red only had one line! XD However, I cracked up when Yuffie started screaming, "Descrimination! Descrimination!!" to the rest of the crew. And seeing Cid bring in a new ship...Gyaa, it was all so fantastic!! Aeris showed up too much for her own good, in my opinion...<fangirl moment>Arrr, Cloud needs to get over her and pay more attention to Tifa. XD </fangirl moment> Anyways, I LOVED the Cloud vs. Sephiroth scene...When the chorus started up, I nearly flipped out! XD And when Cloud defeated Sephiroth, and his wing shot out...Utter coolness.

I think I nearly dislocated my jaw from dropping it too quickly when one of the Sephiroth clones shot Cloud from behind...I thought he was dead (or was going to die) for a while! I thought Tseng and Elena (and Rude and Reno, for about 30 minutes) were dead, too, until the very end. Rufus turned out to be a pretty cool-looking character in the end, and Kadaj was just weird. He had issues, I guess.
Needless to say, I loved this movie, and I'll definitely be buying it whenever it's released over here!! :thumb:

When square and enix merged they didnt actually do any of the games that came out for while together since most of them had alreayd been in development, same with FF7:AC, they had merged already but it was Squares development team that did it, they didnt release a game that they made together until some time later, I beleive that game was Radiata stories. though I could be mistaken.

Steve Blum as Vincent??? Kyaaa!! That's SO great!!! I'm unfamiliar with a lot of them, but the names Steve Burton and Rachel Leigh Cook do ring a bell. And...Christy Romano as Yuffie again...? Well, it's ok, I guess, but I doubt they'll do as good a job as the Japanese actors...They were really fantastic. Except Steve Blum, of course. :thumb: ! Well, that's exciting!

EDIT! And! Christopher Lee will be voicing the red-cloaked guy (what was it again, Diz? Something like that. XD) in KH2! Christopher Lee is great! :D

What percentage of Japanese game characters look their age? The question particularly pertains to Kingdom Hearts, with its mix of art styles. I personally didn't have a real problem with her voice... mainly because I never take the listed age of characters seriously.

I care less about the voice actors than about the supposed release date. Really, what is it that would take them so long for an American release?

Yes, Lance Bass was Sephiroth. He did a pretty good job except for the jumping noise, which always made me think of boy bands.
