Postby faithfighter » Tue Jul 26, 2005 8:50 pm

there are some books that end and keep you wanting more.
there are some movies the end making you feel inspired.
there are some manga's that's endings are so good you can never forget.
and there are some Anime endings that rock
and then there are the 1's that don't.
the endings that leave you staring at the screan (or page) wondering "How could it end like that?"
or making you think "well glad that is over" or "how coulld you distory the story by ending it liek that?" or make you ask "did the autor just get bored and stop??"

this thread it to all of those!!

so post you worst endings!!

This is Rachel, not Icarus. It won't log out.

Anyways, on eof the worst book endings I can think of was War of the Worlds. The rest of the book was eh, not that bad. But the ending was just complete crap.

Actually, I liked the ending to War of the Worlds...better than Independence Day at least. Not that the ending of that movie was bad, just unrealistic and a bit cheesy...like the rest of the film. :P

Fruits Basket the anime had a VERY unfulfilling ending that I didn't like at all.

Akira's ending was confusing and I hated it. Part of the problem of trying to condense a 2,000+ manga into two hours.

That's all I can think of at the moment...

The Matrix...yeah I agree with faithfighter. Should have ended with movie one.

War of the Worlds...too happy. Did nothing to help the film.

League of Extraordinary Gentlemen...I do not like a film that makes me leave the theater saying "Eh?"

Blue Gender--should've stopped at ep. 24.
Wolf's Rain--Start the whole thing over? WHY? (the only bad thing about it)

I just finished reading Mostly Harmless, the final book in the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Trilogy. It was quite dark and I can see why alot of fans are less than fond of it. As far as I'm concerned, the trilogy ends at the fourth book. I mean-
Did he really have to blow up earth again and kill off all of the characters? Well, I think Zaphod is still alive, but he never even appeared in the book, and he was only mentioned in passing. And I think the introduction of the long lost daughter, Random, was kinda pointless in hindsight.
I won't be letting it taint my love of the original books though. I think I'll have to go an reread the first book to try and cheer myself up.. :(

the ending of the Ranma 1/2 series. It felt so empty. In my opinion, I think the ending of the story Lady and the Tiger was bad. It started a debate war in my class.
