Only rumors and "interested parties" but nothing actually planned... No script, no actors, no director, no funding, nothing... Last I checked, anyhow...

actually I don't believe it's just been rumors, I've seen some stuff on it but I don't have the time to track it down.

But i've also heard mention of the tv news that a DB (haven't heard them Use Z though) movie will be made

If I am not mistaken, this movie, or one like it, was made in Japan about 3 or 4 years ago, when I was REALLY into DBZ. A local video store actually has it, and I looked at the box...and it looked horrible, so I never got it.

I could be wrong, but I'm about 85% sure of this...

I know they DID make a live-action movie based on DB, but they renamed it Dragonpearl or some such and changed some things around.

It did look quite odd, but perhaps good for a laugh.

Actually, I believe the movie in question was only loosely based on Journey to the West, with some elements stolen from Dragonball Z.

There was a great deal of hype about this some time back, a great deal of which looked extremely official but was no more than hearsay. Personally, I will not believe anything until I something in print directly from a producer. As I said in the past, the result could be great but will most likely be stupid and I will most likely see it anyway.

That actually looks horrific! But i think if they can actually make an Sailor Moon live movie why not DBZ. Though, I guess they would both be horrible.

The live action Sailor Moon, though, if I remember Animerica correctly, is a TV show. Characters don't look half bad, as far as the Senshi go.

Yes, there is currently a live action SM show in Japan called Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon. I don't know of any plans to bring it over to America, but if they did, even being the SM fanatic that I am...I don't know if I'd watch it or not...

Anyway, I remember this quite clearly, that when I was in high school ('95, I think maybe), there were rumors flying around the net that Disney was going to make a live action Sailor Moon movie (with Geena Davis as Beryl-sama!). Of course, it never came to be, and it's probably a good thing, it more than likely would've sucked.

I would've watched it anyway though... :sweat:

Well, it has been said here before, but it still has some merit.

Certainly someone on the internet has added Super Saiyan hair to the final Neo v Smith battle. That, I would like to see.

I have always contended that it could, if the people involved were willing to work with the intrinsic differences between animated and live action. So far this has not happened extremely well.

I wouldn't mind seeing a live action movie of it, though like others have said it's been rumored so long I doubt it'll happen. I've heard it rumored in 8th grade and 6 yrs later nothing. Although you never know

I think if "they" wanted to a DBZ movie, "they" need to never be allowed to come up with movie ideas ever again. :brow:

I think that a live DBZ movie is just a bad, bad idea.

Personally, I would love to be in charge of it. I have no directing skills, but I would like to see the basic premise of Dragonball Z with real fight coreography, no stalling, modern special effects and a decent script.
