Hmmm....the "Harry Potter" boy as Shinji would be quite interesting. I can visualize him piloting the EVA unit rather than flying on a broom...haha not bad...but the tight fitting suit on him is gonna be quite a scene, considering how skinny EVA characters are.

Though I'm not really an Eva fan, I'll still be *upset* if they change the names... Though, I suppose if they're making it in the US, it would be weird to have an all asian cast (though Asuka wouldn't have to be asian) Whatever... A lot of possibility for it to suck, and some for it to be good. I'll wait and see...

Yeah, changing the names would stink.
Still, I don't see why a British actor couldn't play a character named Shinji. I mean, all the characters look more European than Japanese. It wouldn't bother me a bit if they hired Europeans to play the characters as their names appear in the manga and anime.

They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.
But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. I would LOVE to see that movie! NGE is one of my FAVORITE anime's! And Harry Potter as Shinji would be the 8th Wonder of the World simply b/c I CANNOT see him going from macho, tragic hero, Harry Potter, to whiny, self-pitying, self-despising, depressed cry-baby, Shinji Ikari. Whoever plays Rei and Asuka better be good. Who's playing Kaji and Kaoru? Anyone know?

um, Harry Potter is all of those things except self-despising. and he's not macho either (at least not in the books). Shinji minus mecha plus broom = Harry.
