Whats this...a Shatter-site?

Postby Stephen » Sun May 16, 2004 9:37 pm

Yes its true, the rumors are indeed facts....Shatterheart has another site he is working on...well...not really...Ashley was sweet enough to help set up a site for me....due in part to the fact that I am...in computer terms...dumb. Anyway the link is in my sig...click the freak...you know you want too...for now there is hardly anything up...a few Rebecca St. James pics...but over time I plan to work a great deal of stuff into the site. Anyway...have a look-see.

Sweet...I love the interface you picked for the site. Really fits you...:thumb:

BOOSTER: Hey, No.1! Where's my cake?!
SNIFIT 1: Booster, Sir! There's a 70% chance the object you're standing on is a cake.
BOOSTER: What? THIS thing's a cake?

People who write below their abilities in order to crank out tons of books and make a buck. Especially Christian authors who do that. Outsiders judge us for it, and make fun of us for it, and it makes Jesus look bad. We of all artists on earth should be the most concerned with doing our best possible work at all times. We of all people should write with all our hearts, as if writing for the Lord and not for men.

Does anyone else find it vaguely amusing that only administration members have responded so far? I did.

Very nice looking site, though not really on a subject I am interested in. But I figured that I might as well give a friend a couple of hits.

I get 404 errors with the exception of the first link. It looks really nice and all, I love how the red contrast with the silver and black.

Awesome layout man. It's looking good. And as far as I can see, there are only three pages up right now: main page, et cetera, and Nova's Pit. Maybe more later...

Cool looking site Shatterheart :thumb: , but I noticed why you are getting so many hits. Whenever I clicked on a link it added a hit. So when I clicked next to look at the next picture, it added another hit. So I gave you 10 hits. Thought you might like to know.

Thanks for poping my bubble! lol. No, I just got in and saw it had over 300 hits...amazing since the site is not even 24 hours old. Anyway, thanks everyone for your kind words....Ashley really outdid herself helping me on this....she deserves a bit pat on the back for that. As for content, stuff will be added quite often...as I plan to go to more concerts in the very near future. One thing I will say, I am working on it tonight actually. I plan on doing write ups on the shows....how it was getting in...the different songs maybe...stuff like that. Info to go along with pictures. I figured not everyone is lucky enough to go to cool shows...so if I manage to get some good pics...I want to share em. But again, thanks everyone for the kind words.

Aww, 'twas nothing I wouldn't do again in a heartbeat.

Anyway, the real point of this post is to announce that the site is officially completed for the moment--all the sections are up. I am working on tweaking the graphics to accomodate some more stuff as the site gets older.

On the etc.html page, the links all come up pointing to "#" ... ?

Hmm, not sure what happened there--I surmise I opened the original template by accident instead of an existing page (don't ask, it's just my way of making a lot of similiar html pages quickly). Thanks for pointing it out though, shooby; if anyone else sees these errors please let me know ASAP. Oh it's fixed now, btw.

Attractive layout and smooth navigation--I've quite impressed there! I couldn't make out the words on the menu links, though, and when I hovered my mouse cursor over them, the alt text only showed "link_1," "link_2," etc. rather than the actual option.

Hmm, a good point. I knew it might be tricky if the font were too small, but I had forgotten about alt tags---thanks!

New pictures....hmm...well if there were requests for more. Example, if you liked the Thousand foot Krutch pics and wanted to see more, I have many more I could scan in. Just shoot me a note and I will see what I can do. As for brand new pics, I will be hitting a summer music festival at the end of July, where I plan on taking quite a slug of pics. Bands such as, Third Day, Bleach, Spoken among others. So, around August a whole slug of new ones will be added. Thanks everyone for taking the time to check things out though.

Edit: I just worked in photoshop and created a new front page pic for the site...enjoy.

Yeah the front page is cool looking, if not a tad bit eerie..hehe. I like the smooth navigation to the left and the pictures are great, especially considering their homegrown pics. Can't wait 'till you get those Soulfest ones up.

Well some pics are better then others...the soulfest ones came out the best because there was no smoke...you can have a 500 dollar camera and a little smoke can make all the pics look like crap. I used a real nice camera for those pics...not a 500 dollar camera...but a decent 35mm 3x zoom Olympus. So smoke is always against me...which killed the Pillar pics....um....Rebecca St. James at the Bangor fair....(friend of mine joked that there must have been cheech and chong behind the drum kit with as much smoke as there was at that show) The early pics that look real crappy were done with little walmart special throw away cameras. I plan on buying a new camera before I go to soulfest this year, so expect high quality pics from that. As long as I can get steady shots from the pit. (which at AXE was kinda hard)
