I was wondering if you guys could help me out. I was trying to install a program and it asked for my computer's serial number. The problem is, my computer was custom built so it doesn't have the sticker on the side of the tower. Is there any way I can still get it?

Generally your computer's serial number doesn't mean anything except to an OEM. Do you mean the Windows serial number?

What computer do you run? (XP, Mac?)

I don't know how to check out a Vista's properties (well, I DO, but I don't normally run one so I don't know much about what it'll tell you).

For an XP, go to Start, right click My Computer, and then click Properties. It should tell you.

For a Mac (I'm sure this is the same for Tiger, Leopard, etc.), click the Apple, click About this Mac, and then click More Info. It should be near the bottom of the list of information.

Ooooooh, duh. -_- I needed a different serial number for the program and they e-mailed it to me. Wish they were more clear.

Sorry 'bout that. o_o;;; You mods can delete this thread if you want.

Thank you guys, though! =]

Well, as long as it worked in the end.
