Corrupt Files, yay!

So I'm starting to go rather insane.

I've sat here for hours listening to this annoying little pop-up telling me there's a corrupt Skype file. I think I've found the file, but it doesn't have the exact same name. The pop-up says..

"Skype.exe - Corrupt File

The file or directory C:\Documents and Settings\*myname*\Application Data\shared.xml is corrupt and unreadable. Please run the Chkdsk utility."

I have a Window XP, as you know, and ran the Chkdsk and nothing happened. I have no Application Data file in my C: drive, but I've somehow stumbled across my Skype folder. NOT through my drives though, I typed it into an IE window and there it was. The corrupt file I'm looking at is called "shared". No ".xml" at the end and it's an empty notepad. It's also corrupt.

I believe this is the file that's giving me a headache. And I have no idea how to delete it or get rid of it. I've tried moving it, deleting it, shredding it, renaming it, I am incapable of doing anything with it because it's "corrupt."

So I am begging you people, if anybody knows anything about how to delete corrupt files, halp meh plz. I've tried Unlocker, Killbox, I've tried doing it myself. Absolutely. Nothing. It's just staring at me. With me staring at it. And as this hateful staring continues, the little retarded pop-up won't shut up.

So pleeeaaase. Help me shut it up?

EDIT: Actually, I just dug up my Application Data folder from that Skype folder. It's no longer hiding and is visible in my C: Drive.

That may help ^^

Maybe getting rid of Skype will also get rid of the corrupt file 8D Then reinstall after all of that jazz 8D

(I's sorry for asking a question on Crimmy's thread, but I really hate to take up space Does seeing those blue error screens of death a lot cause your computer harm?)

I've reinstalled it, nothing. I've uninstalled it, cleared everything related to Skype out, redownloaded it and everything, still the same problem.

It's an annoying little bugger.
