Boost your vocabulary and fight world hunger at the same time! Click
here or type
http://www.freerice.com in your address box to play a game where you guess a word's definition. For every correct choice, you donate a certain amount of rice grains.

Wikipedia says this is actually legitimate... I'm surprised, but pleasantly so.
Note to everyone: you can change your starting level of vocabulary on the "Options" page. While I suppose it is a good thing that I earned a few thousand extra grains, working my way up to challenging words took a while.

This site is awesome. I'm too young to donate money to sites/organizations, so this helps me to help the hungry. ^_^

I have actually been playing this game ever since I saw a tv special on it. I hover around level 39, but have hit level 43 on a few occasions. For some reason my computer doesn't remember my rice totals, but I have hit 5k at least a couple of dozen times.
This is a win-win-win idea. Whoever thought of this site should get hired by a fortune 500 company. I get a free vocab trainer. Hungry people get food. The companies who pay for the rice get high trafic advertising and an image boost.

Go to "Options", then choose "Remember my Total Rice Donation from the last time I played when I start FreeRice."
