Recorded DVD won't play in computer

I recently recorded a whole bunch of material to a DVD, and while the shows have been properly recorded and will play in the actual player...it won't do a thing in the computer!
When I pop it in the computer, all I get is "BLANK CD (insert a bunch of CD burning options here)". But it's not blank! Not only is there information on it, but it's completely full.
The last thing I recorded even got cut off because it went to it's limit, there ain't no way this piece of junk is still blank.
Is there any reason why it's doing this? I tried to open it multiple times and just get errors. Sometime ago we use to have a DVD recorder (cheap and annoying one too) and that had some issues, but at least it'd register as a playable dvd when I put it in the computer.
Can anybody help with this? It's real annoying. I really wanted to take screens of some of these shows and thought it'd be fine, but apparently that's just asking too much.
