Has anyone tried out the new Netscape browser? I had just about given up on Netscape ever doing a good browser, but I think that this one just might work. It's got a really cool look to it (especially once you get rid of some of the standard Netscape clutter), and it can work in either Internet Explorer mode or Firefox mode, since it seems to be based on both.
It's still in beta, but I have yet to encounter problems. Anyone else enjoying it?

On a somewhat related note, it seems like there won't be an official Mozilla 1.8, just a "Seamonkey" suite that will be community-supported, not officially supported by the Mozilla Foundation. Firefox will be their major browser now, aside from the little browser projects like Galeon and (my personal favourite) Camino.

I use Netscape 7.1. It is by far the best browser I have ever used. At the college I have to use IE. Its like torture. I love Netscapes multi tab system. Rather then having a million windows you have one or two windows with tabs. Great system. Its stable and uses my dial-up connection way better then IE.
I'm with Volt. Once 8.0 gets past beta its so going on my hdd, and since I will be getting a new pc soon...

Aactually, Netscape browser has always been a direct rip, up to this point, of whatever the Mozilla team was doing. Especially considering as the Mozilla browser code has always been free for download. I could be wrong on one count: The original Mozilla browser code might have been taken from the Netscape browser, not vice-versa.
