Weird 404 error..

Postby TroutNinja » Mon Mar 07, 2005 12:57 pm

Yeah, I guess this is a question that belongs here. I seem to be unable to connect to CAA from home at all. It always gives me a 404 error, even if others are able to connect. I can connect from school fine, but at home it just doesn't work.

Any thoughts or suggestions? I won't be able to check this thread again until Wednesday because of my school schedule, so don't expect immediate feedback.

I had that problem last night, but I chalked it up to a very overloaded server.

Lately it seems the problem is better, not worse though, as database messups don't take as long to fix.

Well, it hasn't changed at all. Still only getting 404s when I try to connect to CAA. It's not that I'm getting it once in a while, I talked to someone via AIM who was able to get on at the same time I was unable to.

It started last week sometime, and hasn't changed up until now. I'm still only able to access CAA from school.

Try PMing Shoorojin, StrayLight, or Old Phil. they're the tech guys of the CAA.

Smells almost like DNS. Here's how you check.

From OS X, start Terminal and type "nslookup www.christiananime.net"

From Window$, start Command Prompt and type the same thing (no quotes for either).

Tell me what IP address you get back. Should be 67.15.32.13.

O.o That's just weird... Are you using IE? That might explain why your system told you "404" even if it really wasn't...
