Computer Trouble

Anyone good with computers?
well I need help! when I turned my computer off and unplugged it to go to the beach it was working fine but when I got back I plugged it back in and
It started up find but then it got to a screen that said "Loading Windows 2000" which is normal but at this one spot it slowed down to a really slow pace which in unnormal then it switched to a blue screen with a error message on it but it only flashes for a second so you can't read it.
then after the message flaqshes for a second it goes back to the very beggining and boots the computer up again and just loops.......
Me and my dad are going to take it to a computer store tommorw...the problem is I don't have the windows 2000 CD to load windows back onto my computer if needed cause I had my friend built it and he let me use his Windows CD....so hopefully they have one and if they have to reinstall windows I will have them strip my hardrive and put it on a new computer and get all my files and put it only a floppy.....but that'll cost like $100.00
so if anyone can help before then my AIM S/N is

this will probably get moved to the computing forum.

As for the actual problem, I dont think there's a way to fix it if it just flashes a message for a second. I wonder if pressing the "pause" button on your keyboard would make it stop on that screen. Seems very unlikely :lol:

Hmm I searously doubt that will work!
but I have good news!
If my dad can get a microsoft 2000 CD
he can install it again without losing any of my date on my C: drive!

you could use the step-by-step boot up procedure, (its one of the options in the menu that says that the computer didn't startup properly, and asks whether you want to boot up in safe mode) select it and it will pause at eack new command line, and you press enter/return to move on to the next command line. That sould at least let you see the error message. As for fixing it i'm not quite sure, to get the menu for that though, you might need to turn off your computer during startup, i don't think theres a keyboard shortcut for it

I think you need to hold F8 before it crashes to get into safe mode.

Actually, safe mode is a very good idea. If you try that, and it works, you may be able to keep from having to reload the whole system.

Problem is....
Safe mode will not work
Dos mode will not work
windows mode will not work!
.....
But I think I found the problem
the "Creator" of my computer and I came to the conclusion that Windows 2k is currupt and all I need to do is Re-install windows....which brings me some trouble!
I need the Windows 2k CD! my father says if we can find one he can install it a certen way so I will not lose my information on my C: Drive....lets hope it works!
