Earthlink stuff

All right, I've got a friend who somehow had her password on Facebook changed w/o her knowledge. She can't use the password reset because she doesn't have access to the email address anymore, because it's an earthlink address and I'm assuming her family doesn't have that anymore.

If it doesn't mess anything up, can someone w/ earthlink register at that address and get me the necessary link so she can reset her password? I'm not really sure how any of the EL stuff works, so I don't know if this is worth asking or not.
