Question about signature GIF rule

Does no animated GIFs in signatures mean no GIFs period? I wanted to post a creature from an "adoption" website into my signature, but they only offer GIFs. Some of them are animated, but the ones I'm picking aren't, and the forum doesn't like them. So is the rule just "No GIFs in signatures, period?" Thanks. :thumb:

It's also an emoticon, though. Somehow I don't think emoticons count. :P

I suppose if I get desperate, I can always convert the images into PNGs in The Gimp and upload them to Photobucket, using my own image with the site's tags. XD

Now that I think of it, setting the forum up so that GIF's can't be used at all allows CAA to enforce the "no animated GIF's" rule pretty effectively. So, yeah. XD

Hmm... It should only be animated gifs that are not allowed. Is anyone else experiencing trouble uploading regular gifs?

It's entirely possible that the site you are getting your graphics from simply exports everything as animated gif, even if there's no animation.

That's possible. but I wouldn't know how to tell the difference without doing more work in The Gimp than I seriously intend to do, so...

I guess I'll just do the convert-to-PNG thing and use my own images in place of those in the site's provided code. :P
