Lasting Legacy: Being Authentic
Acts 5:1-11

He made free use of Christian vocabulary. He talked about the blessing of the Almighty and the Christian confessions which would become the pillars of the new government. He assumed the earnestness of a man weighed down by historic responsibility. He handed out pious stories to the press, especially to the church papers. He showed his tattered Bible and declared that he drew the strength for his great work from it as scores of pious people welcomed him as a man sent from God.

Indeed, Adolf Hitler was a master of outward religiosity--with no inward reality!

We live in a world where so many things are artificial.
 Plants
 Wood or brick facades
 Looks (plastic surgery)
 Sweeteners
 Just about every product has some form of artificial ingredient

Therefore, many would argue that things that are artificial are good. But one thing our world does not need are Christians who are artificial. People who act pious in church and yet outside of it act so sinful nobody would suspect they were Christians.

Our society judges most things by appearance, thinking that what really counts is how something appears. People make it their business to promote the fact that, “Image is everything!â€

Thanks again for another great teaching Rev. Doc. This spoke right to my heart; God is helping me with my level of integrity esp. as a physician. Many peoples lives are on the line and I have to think more about them than I do when it comes to getting something done (or saying that I examined their heart when I really didn't). Can you all pray for me on becoming a man of integrity?

Blessings,
