XXX-Church is a website that helps teens...well anyone for that matter to help overcome thier porn addiction. They're pretty much in your face and up front bout the issue of porn and sex and such.

It's a very effective tool when raging war against porn. One thing I HIGHLY reccomend is X# Watch where they monitor what you view on the computer. Anything that may be deemed morally low such as porn sites. And then you set up a accoutnability partner (one of my YG friends) and if you vissit a porn site, all the info (where you went, the site, when you did and such) goes to your accountablity partner.

Very effective and if anyon eis struglling with it, I highly suggsteing giving the place a try.

acountabilty is a very good thing we had a group that did this in our town. not Spucifcly in about sexualy imoraty but about eveything. It helped me alot and everyone.

now i want to get one started i need it to help me get back on the stright and narrow. With Gods help of course.

As with all monitoring, though, you are also ultimately responsible for yourself continuing the monitoring. Does the program also notify your accountability partner if you shut down the monitor system? (I haven't looked on the site yet.)

How do they determine what are morally incorrect sites?

They have not been good about

1. Keeping their software updated... Their own download doesn't work anymore, and the one on download.com doesn't send the mail. IOW, it's worthless to newcomers.
2. Moderating their messageboards... Way way way too many trolls...
3. Some of the news they report... It often links to some of the sites (well, lesser stuff not like actual porn) that they would try to keep you away from.

It is a noble effort, but until the fix their problems, notably number 1 (since that is the crux of their ministry), it is incomplete and worth very little.

No, I think the the topic is reasonable as long as any and all stances on it are kept well-behaved.

I think it's relevant here as well, since a lot of Christians consider all anime hentai, and such sites (this one, even?) might be blocked accordingly. It would be interesting to see exactly what the site maintainers *do* consider accountable/reportable.

The software, when working correctly, doesn't "block" anything but sends a report of any suspicious sites to the two people you list as your accountability partners... It worked in the past, as some people in my church used it, but it got screwed up somehow, and when new people download teh software (off of Download.com because the download doesn't work from their site), it doesn't send the e-mail anymore.

I put myself as one of the emails just to see what it considered objectionable, and one of the members on CAA included me, but I haven't gotten one single mail. The software needs to be fixed.

i heard about this site, when i first went to it, i did think it was a porn site, but i read alittle, and found out it wasnt, i showed it to the leader of the young mens accountability group at my church, i dont know if he has looked into it though

This is quite the idea. Although something bothering me about it.
