Church Saved my grandpa

It's an old family story, but it's not really that old..only abut 62 yrs, but hey...compaired to me it's old (compaired to Celtic religion it's rather young)
My grandpa Donnelly served his country in the Army in World War2. In 1941, he was stationed at Pearl Harbor. On the morning of the 7th of December John E.Donnelly got up and went to church instead of going to the DFac(dining facility to all nonmilitary). Half an hour later, the Japanese imperial navy bombed the Pearl and all the military personnel in the Dfac were killed. But not my grandpa, he went to partake in his beliefs first.
Hey, it could've been a hunch, or it could've been fate. Or it could've been God Himself saying that it wasn't his time to come home yet. I just thought this was a good familiy story to share.

Now THAT would have been spooky to be in his shoes and suddenly realize that I could have been dead instead of in church...

Heh, tell me about it. I forgot to mention that my grandma actually received a telegram saying he was dead.
My paternal grandparents have seemed to have been given a lot of divine intervention. My grandma had rhematic fever twice and was told she would never have children. Well...I guess doctor's really don't know everything since my dad is one of seven children.
