Consuming Fire

It dwells within the depths of my humanity
Consume and destroy
God of Death
Angel of destruction

Pulsing through my poisoned veins
pouring through my heart
taking a sword
pierce my soul
river pours free
ensnaring me in the consuming fire

Lava from my lips
raging devil in my eyes
heart yearns for the death
soul longs to be free
from the rage that fights to live

Iron shackles
around my concious
sear my flesh
consume me whole
where is the key
to the consuming fire that threatens to destroy?

TELL ME WHAT YA THINK AND MORE POETRY ON MY THREAD "MY THREAD OF POETRY" thanks

I like the imagery you used. At first it looked like it didn't contain too much "visual content" but it all flowed together nicely, painting a vivid and emotional picture.

An excellent job in proving the fact that short poems can convey as much as their longer forms. :thumb: Good job!

I don't know if I made it clear imagery..but the poem is about rage and fire...hence God of destruction...

Hehe, you used very strong words to convey the message, that's what I meant to say.

ooo..no, no not at all...actually I was trying to convey the message of how rage and anger can totally consume somebody and becomes a "god" inducing chaos and destruction...
it is also in a sense about me trying to understand where my anger comes from (ie fear, frustration etc) and how it can be such a harmful cancer to relationship when the anger is not dealt with properly...
and actually i don't have anger management problems or nothin so don't worry :)
I'm a physcho but not in that way :) hehehehe just kidding!
