This is yet another homework for english (did I ever tell you guys hwo much I love you guys? thanx)
In the book "Their Eyes Are Watching God" there is the biggest arrangement of relationships I have ever seen. Janie's struggles to find herself revolves itself through these relationships. As more and more troubles come the more and more she learns about herself. Until she is finally able to know herself. One of these is a destructive relationships is with Logan Killicks, a farmer with about as much vision as bat.
the first effect that the relationship had on here was the realization that materials things don't matter. At the time of their relationship she had finally found her revelation (sexuality if this site can adds the word), and as she was looking for signs to agree with her revelation she kissed a boy across the gate in her grandma's house. her grandma, who was her guardian, decided to marry her off before she gets pregnant by anyone. So she married her off to Logan, much to Janie's disaproval. as time went on Janie's relationship with Logan went down the rocks. Thinking she would fall in love with him or find love in him soon janie waited patiently for 3 months. After three months Janie went to see her grandmother Nanny to ask about why she doesn't feel love for him. She tells her that she will because Logan has 60 acres of land. But by this point she realizes that the yards don't matter if there is no love behind it.
the next effect the relationship had n her, was that she was beginning to look into the future an she actually had dreams she was wishing for. By the time they were married for a year, Logan had stopped acting like he was in love with her. Infact he began to criticize her and force her to do manual labor. As time passed on she began to see that Logan had no vision in his life beyond the next harvest, and begins to look out of the gate of her home and begins to expect things, which bringsus back to the 2nd effect the relationship had on her, which Logan probably had none of .
Finally the last effect was the ability to make her own choices. This started when Logan wakes her up one day and tells her that he is going to Salt Lake City and he is going to by a mule for her to work in the field and that she needs to cut the potatoes. reluctantly she does what he says even thought she argues with him that she will never work in the field. While Logan is gone, a man comes to see her. The mans name is Joe Starks, and he was looking for her parents or guardian. She told him she is married and has no parents. Shocked at finding out she is married and how Logan treats her he tells her to leave logan. this brings her to realize that there is an alternative to this life that she can CHOOSE , which was to defy logan's saying no about leaving him.
The impact that this relationship had on her was a destructive one, knowing that he criticized her and made her do physical labor. It was through these trials that she was able to gorw in herself. Without out these trials she wouldn't gain Identification of herself.
