Death

The sound of a heart beat pounded in his mind. It seemed as though each beat was an explosion. Pain ripped through his chest and legs but it seemed so far away, as if his thoughts were disconnected from his body. He could feel it but it felt far away.

A cold embrace seemed to form around him. The world was silent. The sky overhead slowly floated by as soldiers ran passed him, ignoring him.

Slowly the world returned, the whiz of bullets grabbed his attention. Then an explosion. Soldiers screamed orders to each other as they retreated. He lay staring up at the sky. A blue sky. Why they've have gone we'll never know,
God decreed they had to go
Fighting to the bitter end
Country and innocents they did defend
You came back home, now we see
The payment for our liberty
The scars you bear we'll never know
We're just glad you made it home

I'm sorry, but I didn't know how to reply. Absolutely...incredible.

I was really depressed one day and was contemplating suicide but i decided to write about the way i would want to die if i had to die for a reason other than old age.

I decided if i was going to die...then my death should have meaning. That i should die on the battlefield making a diffrence. Sacrificing my life for what i love.
