Are you a fanfic writer? This is your thread. What are your favorite anime/manga/games/etc to write about? What are your current projects? And anything else you want to say in respect to fanfic writing...^^
Here's a list of the games I've written about (I've never written any stories from anything else, except for a piece of a ST:Voyager fic that never went anywhere and I will not acknowledge its existence if anyone asks...)
Super Mario (anything, although I usually only wrote about Mario/Yoshi when I was younger)
Zelda (Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask)
Metroid (Super Metroid-era mostly)
StarFox
and any combination of the above. I love crossover fics...^^
My last two projects were Song of Loliru (Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask sequel) and Lyghtning (massive 4 way crossover fic of all those listed above...don't ask...LOL)
Anyone else feel like sharing? ^^

At one time I thought about making a freeware "fanfic game" that combined the casts of Sailor Moon and Hamtaro, but decided against it. (At least until I eventually get The Traveller's Guide finished... that's my priority! ^_^ )

Oh, yes!
I believe I have... "become a writer" due to fanfiction. I got practice and feedback, and truly improved and crafted my style via fanfiction.
I begun in crossover.... UNLIKELY an downright WEIRD crossover...
Pokemon... and the X-Files.
Yep.
(If anyone here has read the series "The Chu-Files"... you have me to blame for afflicting you with that.).
I wrote a lot for Pokemon thereafter... mainly for my favorite characters, Team Rocket.
I branched out into other things, occassional other fandom fics. I wrote a few pure X-Files things. I wrote a "Left Behind" book series fanfiction once, and I am the first person on The Fanfiction Network to write a "The Last Unicorn" fanfiction.
Then, I discovered Trigun, and have been writing fanfiction for that ever since. Lately, I've found myself more interested in my orignal works, but I did have a passing idea for a "Matrix" fanfiction, and I'm thinking of possibly doing a short "Haibane Renmei" fic.
Currently, I have a long Trigun work in progress titled "Journey of Remembrance", about an unlikely character survival... And I've been revitilized into Trigun writing thanks to MillyFan, with whom I am co-writing the massive multi-chaptered Trigun horror/drama fic, "DarK Mirror".

Hmm... I'll have to post a list later. This is a good thread.
Or, perhaps, it is better to merely edit this later. I'll give it a shot.
Anime/Manga: DBZ, Shaman King, Trigun, Teen Titans (iffy, but nonetheless)
Games: Rockman Zero, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Metroid
I'm pretty sure that covers it.

You wrote a Metroid fanfic?
...was it good?

It was never finished. It would have been good, though.

I would have posted here last night, but I had to leave because my sister was yelling at me.
Anyway, I write fanfic, LOL, as if it isn't obvious already. Unlike everyone else here, I only write Trigun fics and crossovers set in that universe. I have one Bebop/Trigun crossover fic but it's stalled for now.
I write a variety of fics, although I've removed some for not being up to my standards. I'm most known on fanfiction.net for "The Great Gunsmoke Smokeout," a humor fic about Wolfwood attempting to kick the habit, and currently am co-writing "Dark Mirror" with Haibane Shadsie.
I'll post more later.

Darn...I needed a little inspiration for my own, too...LOL But that's my secret project and you guys don't know about that...

Actually, just talking to you, for some reason I feel vaguely inspired. I've rewritten my basic plot outline, and I've started writing (I only had a few minutes, there's just about four pages). Perhaps I'll have it done in a while and send it to you.

Man, I wish it worked like that for me... Sure, I'd love to read it.
Haibane/MillyFan: How's work going on that Trigun fic? ^^

I LOVE writing fanfiction. There is a competition going on (
http://www.nanowrimo.org) in which I am participating. I am writing an Inu Yasha / Saiyuki crossover, which has been INCREDIBLY fun.
I write for:
Inu Yasha, Sorcerer Hunters, Rurouni Kenshin, GTO, Sailor Moon, Naruto, Saiyuki, and Harry Potter (even though it isn't anime).
I might delve into Trigun one day, but not yet.... I need to finish the stories I have going on right now.
Oh, and I think crossovers are the best thing ever. The concept that favorite characters from two different series would have the same adventures blew me away (a long time ago). Now I grapple to find good crossovers. So, instead, I write them.
Crossovers writing:
Sorcerer Hunters/Inu Yasha
Sorcerer Hunters/Sailor Moon
Inu Yasha/Rurouni Kenshin
Inu Yasha/Saiyuki

Crossovers are great fun... An Inuyasha/Rurouni Kenshin crossover sounds cool, too...^^

It's going along great. We're finishing up the fifth chapter (REALLY long LOL) and may be posting it soon: with that, it's going back to the angst/horror of chapters 2 and 3 for the next few chapters. -^.^- Are you one of our fans too?

Deliciously dark.

*Pokes* Hey is there any relation to Kitty Pryde from the X-Men series?o.O Cuz that was her codename. Also do you still want me to call you to discuss stuff, or like what?O.o;

I've been asked that before. There is no connection! (In fact, whenever I watch X-Men: Evolution, I grrrr at her for stealing my name!)
My online handle originally came from my cat, Shadow. I needed a fanfic writer's handle, couldn't think of a good one, looked at my cat, and chose "Shadowcat". Heh. It's since evolved so that most of my online friends call me - and I call myself now... Shadsie.

Um....Gomen Nasai to break this to you, buuuuut.....Kitty Pryde/Shadowcat had that name waaaaay before you did o.o; She's been around since the old school days of comics. She's been in comics for over 20 years with that name. So if anything, you technically stole her name, probably unconsciously!! How could you Hai-chan?! Stealing is bad mmkay. Cuz stealing is bad....mmkay. Now I know it can be hard to calm these kleptomaniac urges of yours, but it's for the best that you do.
P.S. I'm totally 100% teasing/joking about you stealin it. o.o; Please dun't hurt me now@.@

LOL, that was one of my favorite things to write ever. In fact, I saw an ad on TV for a certain event (guess what, by the American Lung Association) and I could not stop laughing because I was thinking of my story. . .LOL, maybe I should do a sequel someday.
However, Dark Mirror is *NOT* humor or funny. Some parts of it are, to lighten the general angst/horror atmosphere, but most of it is not. I'm posting this warning for yet another time because I do not want to be yelled at or otherwise looked down on, and if you choose to read it, you have been warned: it is at your own risk, and we bear no liability for nightmares, your looking at the anime in an entirely different way, or anything else you might get upset at us for. -^.^-

Heh. You certainly are covering your bases there. I can't wait to see this in an actual disclaimer on, say, a toaster.

Point taken...^^ I'm a big girl so I don't have to worry about it though...UC, that toaster thing...sounds a bit like something someone would really do...

LOL, I have fun with disclaimers. In fact, notice the legal disclaimers at the top of each page from Dark Mirror. . .
Chapter one:
Disclaimer: I don't own Trigun. If I did, Rem, Wolfwood, and Legato would all be alive, the final episode would have ended with a double wedding for Meryl and Vash and Milly and Wolfwood, Meryl and Milly would both have a lot more plot and character development, Knives would have confessed his love for Legato, and Trigun would have had the animation art style of Cowboy Bebop. . .I don't own it though. So I'll stop rattling on if you promise not to sue me, OK?
Chapter two:
Disclaimer: Nightow owns it, not me. (Lady Shadowcat doesn’t own it either, she’s just in love with the world and characters).
Chapter three:
Disclaimer: If I owned Trigun, would I be writing fanfics rather than continuing the series? Lawyers. . .^sigh^
Chapter four:
Disclaimer: We don't own Trigun. Hush, don't tell anyone though. . .maybe we can tell people to stop writing cheap Mary Sues and they'll actually listen to us. . .
And finally, a sneak preview of chapter five, but only the disclaimer:
Disclaimer: I think by now, any reasonable, intelligent person would understand that we do not own Trigun. However, since lawyers, not known for their reason or intelligence, are the persons to whom this disclaimer is directed, once more: We do not own Trigun.

This is my disclaimer (for DBZ, but it could be just about anything):
Disclaimer: Of course I own DBZ. I mean, really. If I didn't own it, why would I be writing stories about it? I wrote the original story, drew the Japanese manga, translated most of it into English and did the voice acting for all major characters. In my spare time I'm in marketing.

I did a similar one for the upcoming sixth chapter of Dark Mirror. . .all right, another sneak preview LOL ~.^
"Disclaimer: Hey, no disclaimer this chapter! We bought the rights to Trigun from Nightow last night in a frenzied bidding war on E-bay. You're OUR lawyers now. . .and if you believe this, go back to school and take all the critical thinking classes you failed the first time. *laughs* We still don't own Trigun."

Heh. ...a question, though. Do you actually have critical thinking classes? I don't think that sounds like very critical thinking...
PostPosted: Thu Nov 13, 2003 1:32 pm

I don't know about critical thinking, but I know that collges have logic classes. I took one. Logic is a diffrent kind of thing, though.

I've never been able to write for Trigun. It's a gorgeous series, and I love it, but somehow the characters seemed complete in themselves and there was nothing I could add. Someday, maybe.
I have, however, written for Gundam Wing, Shaman King, Naruto, One Piece, Final Fantasy VIII, Yu-Gi-Oh, Magic Knights Rayearth (with a little of various other CLAMP, maybe), and a few others I can't think of, perhaps. I'm also trying to write some Saiyuki (an introspective based on a couple episodes from Reload), as there is a sad lack of coherent non-yaoi stuff for that series.

I'm currently a strictly DBZ fanfic writer... though I did have some ideas for Gundam Wing and Naruto XD
Go for it Aka-chan, in series where most of the cast are males, the fandom is just eyeball deep in yaoi--they need non-yaoi stuff BADLY.
