If I

If I lost something of great importance,
What would you say?
Would you only comfort me?
Would you help me find it?

If I got deathly sick,
Would you visit me?
How about bring me flowers,
Or call me?

If I died tonight,
What would you do?
Would there be no point to hope
in what tomorrow might bring?

Or would you wonder:
"Is she in Heaven or Hell?"
Did you ever bother to ask,
"Are you a fellow Christian?"

"So, how long is it gonna take for us to shed our pride and ask those around us if they have been given the gift of Eternal Life? We always tell ourselves 'I can't be a missionary... How am I gonna get to China, or Guatamala, Japan, etc...' There are about one thousand pagan teens in the city of Torrance, California alone. Not kids, or adults, or a city as a whole, just teenagers! What are you going to do about it?"

Probably feel bad about myself for a minute or two, and then do nothing, because really, the poet cannot win the war.

Maybe not win the war, but a small unknown battle.

I have seen the ends of many battles start before they have begun.. skirmishes have sunken into an anarchy of naive uselessness... but it is good to hope, I guess.
