Calling All Writers!!

Hi.
I thought this idea up awhile back and wanted to see if anyone else would
like to give it a try. Basically, it's a story series I call "Dissonance", about these four characters who are sent to other worlds by a being they call the "Voice" in order to find crystal shards that could rebuild the main character, Julius', world.
You can write your own part of the story that would be based in a different time or world where anything could happen. The stories don't have to be in any sort of order, just make it as you want as long as you keep the main four characters. Because some could be based in alternate worlds, the characters may run into a character that helped them in one story who has suddenly become their arch nemesis in another (like in "Tsubasa").
They could be in any time, like the future, feudal Japan, the Roman Coliseum, etc., or a world were they actually turn into something else, such as aquatic creatures, cyborgs, back into little kids, animals, or even one where the guys are girls and girls are guys O.o .
PM me if you'd like to try it (so we don't have people doing the same ones).
I'll have the caracters in the next post.

Here are the four main characters:
Julius- The "leader" of the group, his world was destroyed by a being called Millenia. He gray fur all over his body and long, pointed ears. There are black markings around his blue eyes and on the back of his neck, shoulders, arms, and the front of his legs. His tail can change sizes and length for attacking. Julius can also erase people's memories and absorb the crystal shards needed to rebuild his world.
Monty- A large, orange haired character. He was originally a 10-year old prodigy who was put in the body of a 30-year old. He's incredibly strong and uses his intellect to help the others out of sticky situations. He either has an orange beard or stubble on his chin and his eyes are squinted (anime style). Because of his true nature, he sometimes lapses back into acting like a kid.
He joined Julius to both help him rebuild his world as well as find a way to get his original body back.
Lucia- A blonde furred fox girl (snout, triangle ears, paws, claws, and big bushy tail) with long, same-colored hair and green eyes. She can use many kinds of magic and is extremely agile. Her family vanished (believed to be by Millenia), so she has left to help Julius and try to see if they're still alive, though she doubts it.
Chloe- The youngest and most comical of the group. She's about 12 and comes from a world where everyone can transform into different creatures. Her hair is pink, her skin is slightly dark (like an Arabian), she has long, pointed ears and slight animal features, such as claws and fangs. Her eyes can change colors as well. Like the others of her world, she can become any of several vicious beasts to help fight off enemies, but most of the time she just acts silly and mischievious.
Due to her mischief, she was sent away from her world and now travels around to help Julius and the others.
This story below is an example, based in a sort of 1930's Mafia age. Stories don't have to be historically accurate (and this one probably isn't anyways).

I should probably have told a little more:
Julius' world was destoryed, as said above, by an unknown being called Millenia. For some odd reason, he was spared and brought to the "Between", a place with many crystal orbs that represent the souls of every world. He discovered one orb that was shattered with many of its pieces missing. The being called the "Voice" spoke to him and told him he would have to find the missing pieces (crystal shards) to fix it, but there was no guarantee he could find them all. He was gifted with the ability to sense and absorb the crystals, and was sent off with three others to find the pieces.

I'd be happy to write part 1. It would cover the backgrounds of Monty, Lucia and Chloe as well as the destruction of Julius' world and the meeting and sending of the four of them. But I don't know how to make a written file like that with a link to it to make it accessible.
Edit: It doesn't have to be "part 1" chronologically, as I'd hate for other potential writers to wait for me to finish first. Just think of it as a prequel.

I had planned to do the beginning part as Julius waking and finding himself in the "Between" (as written above), then have him sent to a place where he meets the other three. If you want to do, I supposes it's alright.
To link a file, click on "Go Advanced", then scroll to the bottom where you'll find something about uploading files. Click it, click "Browse", find your document, click "Upload", and wah-lah. Just click "Post Reply" and you're done.

Well, if you've already got it covered, that's all right. Actually, I don't even really have time to write something. Knowing me, I'd probably put it off or stretch it out. I don't even have access to a computer most days out of the week, anyway. I hope others with more time and ambition than myself can collaborate to write one heck of a story, though. Good luck!

Hey, you could still try. So far you're the only one that's offered to do it.

I'd like to try, but right now I'm working on my own story, and I'm not sure my style would mesh in correctly.

I'd like to try it, and I have enough time to actually do it! The one thing I'm not so sure about is if my writing style will be all right -I mean, you won't mind if I'm the sort of person who exaggerates events, or likes to put in quirky humour or anything?
As of right now I want to quickly snatch up the character
Chloe.
Whoot! Go transforming girl!
One more question: how do they transfer from one place (whether it be a different world or a different time) to the next?

Hey, it's meant to be anime-ish (you've read my stuff, Photosoph, you should know how I write ^-^), so exagerration is good. The style doesn't matter, after all they're going around to comlpete different worlds.
One more question: how do they transfer from one place (whether it be a different world or a different time) to the next?
The "Voice" is a sort of omnipotent being the takes them from one place to another. Each story can start the characters appearing in a new world from the mist (read the end of the example story) or have them already in the middle of things in the story. It should typically end with them being pulled back in the mist, and just have it assumed that they went to the "Between" to repair the orb a bit more. I want this to be more focused on the different worlds, and not really how they get there (adds to the mysterious of the tale
).
Oh, and mobilesuitpilot, if you ever get a chance, I'd like to see you do one. I'm suppose to be doing a story too, so I'm not sure when I'll do another one of this.

It's in the writing corner. Somewhere...

All right, after re-reading the first two posts, I suddenly realised that I thought what would happen would be that each different character was sent to a different world to find a piece of the shard (which was why I said something about 'snatching up the character Chloe). ...What I now understand is that for this story, we would each be writing a separate story using all four character trying to find a missing shard piece in another world. Is this correct?

Yes, though you can have anything happen, like having the characters wind up in completely different parts of the world if you wanted.
You can do anything short of killing off the main characters.

That's great! Besides, killing off the main characters isn't my style.
I think I'm too kind-hearted.
That sounds cool -having them wind up in different parts of the world... I think I might try that. Hmm... I'll have to start writing sometime soon. When I post it, should I post it here or make a new thread?

Here, but do it as an attachment. It'll be easier than having everyone's tales running into each other.

That's a good idea. I'll try that then.
Right now I'm doing a bit of brainstorming about the actual world they'll end up in, the plots, the sub-main characters, etc, so it may take me a while to start writing.

Hey I'd like to try as well! i'm not doing much during classes, so I'll just work on one of the stories. You know this kinda reminds me of how our National Hero Dr. JOse Rizal wanted to right a novel (Any of you guys heard of him?) when we were still under the Spaniards? - A bit of a history lesson. hehe.

Haven't heard of that person, but I'm glad to see more join on!
I'm not sure when I'll get to writing to another story. I have another "series" I'm working on, and I'm temporarily worried right now about a possible job interview.
*sigh*
Hopefully it will go alright and I'll get around to writing more.

Anyways, thanks. I've already thought of a story and is it ok if I use some Filipino words. I'll be translating them of course.

Just another question, Myoti: you've revealed a little about each character's personality, but like you did for the character bios on the first page... I think it was in your second post on this thread... is it possible to give us a quick run-down of how each character's personality and/or quirks?

Hey Myoti!
This sounds like an awesome story idea. I hope your job interview went/goes well.
I probably wont get involved due to school and the fact that I don't tend to write much, but I'll stick around and read what other people come up with. It's a really cool way to pull people together for a joint project.

Just another question, Myoti: you've revealed a little about each character's personality, but like you did for the character bios on the first page... I think it was in your second post on this thread... is it possible to give us a quick run-down of how each character's personality and/or quirks?
Julius- He usually just does things the way he wants and is usually laid back, even while fighting. He sometimes gets ticked at his other party members (especially at Chloe), but he stills cares enough to protect them. He also freaks if a girl tries to hit on him. XP
Monty- Really smart and acts like one of the "big brother" types towards Chloe and Julius (ie, taunting playfully, noogies, etc.). He respects Lucia and will do anything for her, not like he's trying to hit on her, he just had nice manners, especially around older women.
He sometimes lapses back into his younger personality, but he can still maintain his level of intelligence.
Lucia- Typically the most serious of the group, though still happy most of the time. Though she usually isn't the subject of jokes, she likes to smile and luagh alot. She also feels shy if she's alone near Julius. She's very kind to Monty and treats Chloe like a younger sister.
Chloe- Always mischievous, sometimes teaming up with Monty to play tricks on Julius. If Julius tries to get back, she immediately runs to Lucia for "protection" (Lucia thinks Julius is just being mean to Chloe). She's almost never serious, hardly ever noticing dire moments. She uses her "cuteness" to her advantage, easily getting what she wants mostly from all older girls and women.
She doesn't even change when she enters one of her many "transformations", perferring to play around with her opponent instead of finishing them off.
Hope this helps some.

I'm a writer and I'd certainly be willing to give it a try and help out if I am needed. I'm not sure how my writing style would fit, but like I said, I'd love to try, although I am kinda a slow writer.
