So I was unsure what to post. So we'll try a little esoteric and then a little mushy. Hehe. Thanks in advance to any who read. I hope the experience is pleasurable. Or at least not too agonizing ;)

Gentle

A sense barely sensible,
And yet powerful still.
That memory indellable,
Which just eludes the will.

The silent moments,
A soul sits alone,
When the heart writes its sonnets,
That never again are known.

Like a delicate flower,
That can barely be touched.
Never a high tower,
Yet more beautiful than such.

Ever like music,
You close your eyes to hear.
More than hearing, you feel it,
So far to be so near.

But such moments are lost,
And never return again.
They carry no cost,
And they obey no man.

Solitary piano keys,
So softly falling.
Gentle.

Too Soon, Too Far Away

When you and I are all alone,
Quiet but for breeze and breath,
It seems that with your soft daring eyes,
You could charm me to my death.

I don't know when I must leave you,
But I wish it were never,
When we are together like this,
Don't you wish it were forever?

There is a certain kind of magic,
When our heartbeats step in tune,
In that very dear moment,
That always ends too soon.

Yet it ever must end,
And we fall away in slow motion,
Feeling well each step we take,
As if our hearts were lost upon an ocean.

But stop and close those sweet eyes,
Imagine our yesterdays to be our today,
And I could be thinking of you,
Wherever I stand far, far away.

We could think about some other day,
When things were other than they are,
Imagine, wish in our heart of hearts,
That these miles were not so far.

And last, send me a kiss,
To touch me softly in my sleep,
And bring some soothing beauty,
To the troubled dreams I keep.

Second one was a wee bit more poetic, in my opinion. Both pretty good, really.
Take it like you gave it; what else matters in the end? To be honest, it's all a one-shot test; that leaves plenty of places to go wrong, but how will you ever know? There's a pointer, I will admit. Turn it on, listen to it, feel it burn.

Another kindly compliment. I thank you very much indeed :) Here's another poem btw:

One Last Thing

You're somewhere, I'm somewhere else,
Just connected by our hearts and a phone,
But before you put that receiver down,
There's one more thing before I am all alone.

What happens to you, what happens to me,
Who knows what the future brings?
I might not get a chance to say,
To tell you so many things.

Perhaps, never another walk together,
Nor an evening out to eat,
We might never see another film,
Nor even simply meet.

I could make speeches,
Of what I would say to you tonight,
Books and books of poetry,
To say what just a few words might.

That though I die before I see you,
And my life were short, lived in vain,
Because you were in my life,
I should relive it just the same.

And if you changed your mind,
Said goodbye to me forever,
Still, I would say it was worth it,
For the time we had together.

Though the world should end tonight,
And we all fade into the dust,
It could have known no greater beauty,
Than that which we called us.

Basically what I'm trying to say,
Before you put down that phone.....

Is that I love you.

And more for my kindly audience:

The Missing Piece

I had with me a picture,
And yet it seemed but half,
One edge jagged and incomplete,
Awaiting something it lacked.

It was already a beautiful image,
With colors so vivid and so real,
It seemed to live and breath,
With a vaguely familiar feel.

It depicted a living day,
With sun bright and air clean,
Birds flew, flowers bloomed,
All so like a dream.

And then I realized,
The picture was of me,
But where was the other half,
And what could it be?

Pulling my eyes away,
From the me I never knew,
I looked around me for a piece,
That might complete my view.

Scattered all about me,
Like a puzzle's broken fragments,
Were picture and potrait,
Of beauty, joy, and lament.

Every manner, every thought,
Lay conceived in an image that lived,
Each missing a single piece,
That it could be whole with.

I knelt and chose a shard,
A grassy knoll by a waterfall,
It seemed refreshing, in all ways lovely,
And I answered to its call.

I fitted it with my piece,
But they would not be one,
Each rejected the other,
Each finding some imperfection.

Many pieces I tried,
Some nearly the same as mine,
And some would fit my piece,
Only to form a world marred and unkind.

Then I saw one piece,
So very different from my own,
Sprinkled stars in a cold night sky,
So beautiful, yet very alone.

But it fit, somehow,
And my picture was now much more,
It was still the same image,
Yet deeper than ever before.

Sunlit days and nights of stars,
Every beauty lay within my soul,
The other half, I think, is fairer,
And without her I cannot be whole.

when i was reading it i was like, "oh, oh the author is talking about a woman, someone who completes you!" and then at the very end when you mention her i was so happy that i figured it out! i like this one, its crisp and keeps you reading.my favorite part was 'scattered all around me like a puzzles broken fragments'. that part was realy well written!
