Created During The Service

At my church we've got a big projecter controlled by a computer terminal at the back. I'm the one, every Sunday morning, who is controlling the words appearing behind the band. At the same time I make quick revisions to song words, type in new songs and choose backgrounds for those coming up, all the while praising God with the rest of the congregation. It's an important job that I take some degree of pride in, even though my efforts are widely unnoticed by the others. It's good to help out at church.

Anyway . . . I get a long break while the pastor's talking. I always listen to what he has to say, but sometimes the Lord calls me to do more with my time than that. That's when I type while listening. I mostly write poetry and songs there. My previous in-church masterpieces are attatched below, but a big shift came today.

This morning, I passionately typed the words that came into my head and and soon created this (It was a little different at first.):

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You
Samuel Fraser
Sequence
Verse 1; Chorus; Verse 2; Chorus; Bridge; Chorus
Verse 1:
Inferno from the heavenly realm
Burn the chaff
Purify the gold
Water from the righteous flood
Clear the trash
Restore my soul
Verse 2:
Spirit of the Sovereign One
Come with might
Revive our fire
Son of God who reigns above
Show Your light
Please bring us higher
Chorus:
Father, Son and Holy Ghost
The Three in one, the Trinity
You command the celestial host
And yet You speak to me
Bridge:
Oh, Lord!
Burn the chaff
And clear the trash
Purify the gold
Oh, Lord!
Restore my soul
Come with might
And show Your light
Revive our fire
Bring us higher
I decided it was my best song up to date and after the service ended I shared it with my parents. They were ecstatic, as I had suspected, so I decided to share it with the worship leader who'd shown an interest in my work. He got even more excited.
I can't remember all the details, but within an hour he and I, with the help of one other musician and my father, had recorded a first run through of the words accompanied by a guitar solo. The pastor was listening in and once we had finished he told the worship leader to have that song ready to be performed for next week's service!
There are now three copies of the rough run-through of the lyrics that will be used to figure out changes for next Sunday's performance.
This is sort of a general topic, but people come to this thread expecting to read and there's going to be a lot of it here. I've decided to post all of my God-inspired, Sunday morning creations.
Not bad at all. hehe, I always wondered what the sound/projection guys do up there in their booth. Now I know! Actually, I imagine I'd do something similar. At least you found a good time-slot to practice your writing skills.
Me: :bang:
Hooray!
Yesterday I finally found all of the Sunday morning files I had lost. I also wrote a short stroy but it needs some work still and it's linked with some other stuff I've done. Anyway here's some of the ones I've recovered.
Not a Pacifist is one that I did that I didn't really like how it turned out.
I really like the song No Words. It's simple and has good rythm.
Armor of God is another that I was dissatisfied with.
Same with At the Judgement Seat.
Breath of life turned out quite well in my opinion. I really like the idea that since the Bible says we are the 'Temple of the Lord' just by staying alive we are serving Him. Cool, eh?
And here's some more.
Changing Wind is a nice one.
As for Chess, think of the verse that says 'Faith the size of a mustard seed can move a mountain.' We could do some serious damage to Satan's forces.
Ever wanted to go back in time and fix your mistakes?
With Fleeting . . . it's okay, but there's something a little off about it. It's not quite right yet.
Holy Sanctuary is based off a nice idea but . . . well . . . it's not one of my best.
And here's the last of them.
Talk about short; One Thing is only 4 lines!
Questions on Truth turned out just great.
As for that short story . . . it'll pop up on this site at some point. Not yet, though, and maybe not in this thread.
