Tofu's Poetry

Rather than just make a whole bunch of threads, because I know I'll be adding poetry fairly frequently, I'm gonna have this as my ONE SOURCE.

Of course, feel free to comment and critique. I especially like a good "I like this part, because..." ^_^/

For my first trick: Here's one that I wrote... I don't know when. It could've been any time, because it's generally applicable...

Acceptance
It hurts and it burns,
But I am feeling numb
Inside, for now.
So, here I am alone.

'Cause I've found,
And in myself I have drowned
In my own acceptance.
Now I feel, finally,
But just existing.

Oh, my Father can you hear me?
Can you see what I have done with you?
Do I make you cry?
Do I make you cry like I do?

I am not built for this.
A lie I cannot speak anymore.
I am fit for this.
Tomorrow brings a day to ignore,
And you remain
To take away this pain I feel,
To teach me new things.

I will fail you,
But you still hold me.
I reject you,
Still you accept me.
Over and over I will destroy this,
But you remain,
To pick me up and brush me off,
And you retain
The smile that rebuilds my life,
As it began in you.

Love is more than anything
I could ever know,
And you embody everything
I could never know.
So, tell me why it is this way.
Why did you have to die?
For me?
For the pain of everything?

And there I am alone, again,
Ignoring all it seems I can.
Destroying everything you've built;
These human hands that only kill.
And when I turn around,
When I awake,
You will hold me close so I don't break.
So I don't break,
You pick me up.

After every nail I've driven into you,
All the pain that I have borne in you,
You remain
To take away all of my shame.
I am silent
While you tell me "it's alright" again.
