High gray bars
Clinking metal chains
A 5’ man stands
In a 9’ room
A car drives by
he gazes
Out
The window
At the gray sky
Sits on the yellowed mattress
Glances up at the barred window
Dull icicles drip from it
A gray tear

And cries
