Chapter 4: Visions

Terrified of what had just happened, Kaylin walked back to join the others in the feast, in a dreamish wander. Draqon was the first to greet her; he had sensed something happened, and it bothered him. Draqon caught Albekcc’s attention, and motioned him to look toward Kaylin.

Upon seeing Kaylin in a daze, Albekcc Gillias to fetch water, and Draqon to see the visitors to the door, then he rushed to his daughter’s aid. Kaylin found a chair and sat, while her father checked for open wounds, and bruises. Suddenly Kaylin started to cry. Albekcc thought the tears were for Mariee, and he did his best to soothe Kaylin.

we saw broken pottery all over the floor, and weeds growing from out of holes in the wall. the sort of stuff that is there just to be there, and no one ever sees it. sort of like all the extra scenes, and characters from the LOTR movies, huh? we figured they put it all there to entertain people when they get stuck on the ride. just to make us wonder why they put it there...

Lol! Mind games.

Yay! More story. And things are just getting more interesting... @_@ ^_^

Terrified of what had just happened, Kaylin wandered back in a dreamish state to join the others in the feast,. Draqon was the first to greet her; he had sensed something different, and it bothered him. Draqon caught Albekcc’s attention, and motioned him to look toward Kaylin.

Upon seeing Kaylin in a daze, Albekcc Gillias(?) to fetch water, and Draqon to see the visitors to the door, then he rushed to his daughter’s aid. ur it! *runs and hides* *searches frantically for a place to hide* *sees Kaylin's flet* *runs up the slender ivory steps to the top of the flet* * stops and hides under a table*
So... SORA IS IT!

Psoph stares at Sora with wild eyes. She backs away slowly, fearfully, before turning suddenly and fleeing for all she is worth. Unfortunately, she has forgotten about the TFR.... aghast at her lapse of memory, she stops and looks back.
"NOOO!!! TFR!" the desperate call erupts from her throat. She throws herself back at the TFR, grabs it, and then begins to cuddle it. After a second, she looks up and remembers that Sora is it. She jumps to her feet and zooms off, cackling wildly about talking flowers and still life robots. Finally she finds herself back in Lost's bedroom, and dives underneath for shelter.
It's dark. It's lonely. It's cold. And there appears to be an old sandwich nearby. It is so old, in fact, that it has its own sarcophogas (how on earth do you spell that? Can't be bothered getting a dictionary ^^ ) centred in the middle of a pyramid built out of dust bunnies by a forgotten tribe of sandwich people.
Psoph looks around wildly. The darkness under the bed seems bigger than the size of the bed itself. How is that possible?!
Shivering, Psoph curls up into the fetal position and begins to rock back and forth.
(Lost, you don't have monsters under your bed, do you? *whimper* ...They're all in your closet, right? Right?!)
In the middle of her rocking, the button on the TFR is accidentally pressed.
'Do, do-do-do, do de, dee, do;' the music drifts from underneath the bed into the rest of the room and far beyond.

Note on the sandwich people:
The higher class sandwich are the small, dainty club sandwiches. The sandwich king in the pyramid, however, ascended to the throne after a turmoil caused by an 'accidental' ketchup spill (the ketchup was a precious artifact they had brought with them when they fled from the kitchen and travelled for many days and months for the safety of the forgotten land, spoken of with great awe: 'Lost's bedroom'. The old king slowly turned soggy, and with his last dry bit of breath, left the throne to his adopted son, a common cheese sandwich. This cheese sandwich, the one entombed, drove his people into slavery. He hated the club sandwich higher class so greatly that they were forced to go into hiding to avoid 'the wrath of the swiss'. However, one club sandwich couple fled so quickly that they left behind their daughter, who the cheese king captured and forced to be his serving girl. But unbeknown to him, each day, along with his daily three course meal of carpet fluff, the serving girl would drop a drip of dewdrop (heh, couldn't help that ^__^) onto the corner of his crust. Soon a fungul growth developed that the antibiotic couldn't do anything about (especially considering it only works on backteria... I think). The cheese king was buried, and placed in the tomb which he had forced his people to build. -Extract from this thread's Dictionary of Randomness.

Um Photosoph you mentioned ketchup. Don't you call it the same as us Australians -sauce?

Yup; we call it tomato sauce, or sauce. And the commonest example is the excellent Wattie's tomato sauce. Do you get that brand in Australia or is it just a NZ thing?
I've just watched too many American shows, so sometimes I call it ketchup. ^_^ Only really while writing, though; out loud I call it tomato sauce, especially if I'm asking Dad. But he goes to LA quite a lot with his job, so he'd know what I'm talking about.
And there are a lot of Americans on CAA. *points at Sora and Lost* If I called ketchup tomato sauce... would you guys think I was talking about tomato puree? Dunno. *shrugs*
*Takes out wattie's tomato sauce, flips the lid, sticks in mouth, and guzzles*. Funnily enough I had tomato sauce on my steak last night... and the potato chips. Those chips were more like wedges though.
For a long time I thought 'catsup' and 'ketchup' were two different types of sauces. But 'catsup' is just one way of pronouncing 'ketchup', right?

*Follows W4J into Narnia. On the way through the forest she tries to snags one of the coats and puts it on... unfortunately as she walks further it turns into a tree and Psoph ends up hanging by her collar on the top of a pine tree, kicking her legs in a futile effort to free herself* :?:
"Ooo... I can see you from up here!" :wow!: "And there's Mr. Tumnis... and the beavers!"

Wait a minute *checks date* It's the 27th! *throws party*
Which means... not only is it Easter... but it is also my birthday!
Seriously though; go and check my bio, if my bday's up there. Today I am 17!! ...Although I may have to wait a little longer to be 17 in America

I loved those novels too. The first time, and probably the second time I read The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, I was so sad when Mr Tumnis was turned to stone. T_T He was so kind, and then he was so evil, and then he was so kind, and then he was so sad, and then he was so happy!

i was always sad when Aslan died, and then, realizing my dream of reading a book were the main character/ hero dies, i was always like, "YES!" but then, i would feel really bad... the first time i read LOTR, i was like "SCORE!" when frodo "died" in Shelob's Lair. not that it was a good thing he died, but because i've always wanted the main good dude to die. i dunno why...

i think... *ponders thought* i think i'll kill Kaylin right before she gets her dragon. ^_^ speaking of which, did it seem like this whole book would be about Kaylin finding her dragon? i was sort of rethinking that this weekend, and i thought that it would end up being her searching for something, or going on some sort of quest after she finds a dragon. i tend to go off on tangents, and not get back to the main idea, so i was just wondering if that would seem relavent....

It sorta does seem like a big part of the book. But if you go on to write more it wouldn't feel out of place; in fact it would be all right because you've already hinted on things about her mother, and that evil lady... so I'm sure it'll be all right.

Man, this is the weirdest thing: we were talking out the narnia books today, right? Well hours after that, in fact just this evening, guess what I got as a gift: 'The Chronicles of Narnia!' O_O
If I didn't already believe it, this is just more proof that coincidence does not exist. ^__^ Too many strange (and sometimes cool) things like this happen for coincidence to be so.

rofl! that's awesome! i wish i had the set. i "borrowed" it from laura once upon a time, but she took 'em back 'cause they were a gift to her. well, i tried. ^_^

Feeling betrayed, Kaylin now got up, and showed herself to her room, leaving Draqon and Gillias to wonder at what had just happened.

Kaylin closed her door tight behind her, and looked over the piles of things she was to take with her on the Journey. She was to leave with Limbar in two days, but now there was confusion as to what was going to happen. Lying on her bed, Kaylin reached for her mother’s frozen rose.

Suddenly a vision of an elf came to her. There were no certain features that stood out about the woman to make her recognizable, and yet she seemed familiar. She was running in a field, much to the same likeness as the field in her dreams. The same hilly structure, the same flowers upon the springy turf.

Then she had turned, and was confronted by a figure clad in dark robes. It seemed to consumed her, and then left her upon the grass.

Then as quickly as it had come, the vision vanished. Kaylin’s breath was coming in short, rapid gasps. What had just happened? Kaylin had heard of elves with extraordinary gifts, when most Elves did not. Did she have this gift? Was it part of the Coming of Age?

Suddenly, Kaylin became aware that she was asking these things out loud, but she could also hear another voice asking them at the same time. The voice was pleasant and friendly, distant yet familiar. She knew that she had heard the voice before, but she did not know where from. It was a woman talking, and as she talked, another woman answered her.

The latter had a strong voice, she was well spoken, and Kaylin could tell she was older by the wisdom the chiseled the personality of her voice.

The elder woman answered the formers questions, and said that it was a gift. The gift was to see things that your heart greatly desires, but only comes after your Coming of Age, or just before the Journey begins.

So it is a gift! Kaylin told herself, and she became excited, and wanted to tell Limbar, Albekcc, and the Dragons. Then she remembered Limbar’s reactions to seeing her earlier that afternoon, and then her father’s reaction to hearing what Limbar said to Kaylin.

Yay! CA joined the thread! ^_^
Explain? Well, W4J knows, but CA and I are twins, which means our birthdays fall on the same day! (There are some twins who, either because of a long labour or because of being born near midnight, have birthdays on different days).

Happy Easter! Don't eat too much chocolate. I did. That, + birthday cake, did not feel nice afterwards. Hmm... strange, I used to think there was a gag smiley. Oh well, I'll try it even though I can't see it on the clickable smilies list: :gag: .
I didn't eat too much but I did eat a lot.
Bonne Pacques! Happy Easter! (In French)

Pokity pokes Sarah, and waits for however is 'it' to start roaming around.

Oh, wait a minute...
i think... *ponders thought* i think i'll kill Kaylin right before she gets her dragon. ^_^

NOOOOOooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

W4J hurls himself across the room to tackle Photosoph and steal one of Lost's dust bunnies, before retreating within the wardrobe nearby. And entering Narnia!

Wait a minute... I'm it? Hmmm....
*stares around evilly from the top of the tree. Then, too bored to actually get down, go out of Narnia and find someone, she opens up a portal in the Narnia/CAA webspace and yanks a CA on a poking spree out.
"YOU'RE IT!" Psoph yells overly loudly. She then lets CA drop.
"Don't worry, there are plenty of talking birds around..." she starts to console the falling CAA member. "Oh wait..." unfixes herself from the tree top and begins to fall down, curling up into a ball to make herself go faster. Soon she catches up with CA. "Here you go!" she whips a party hat out, places it on CA's head, and pulls a party popper (not a party pooper, ). The resulting string flies upwards and entangles the only talking bird in the area, who had been on its way to rescue CA. Psoph is silent for a long moment.
Then, "Um... maybe Mr Tumnis will break your fall?" she suggests. Then she yawns, stretches, and grabs a nearby branch by its tip.

Happy birthday, Photosoph and CreatureArt. Also, happy Easter to everyone.

Good story, LostChild. I am slightly confused with what is going on with Limbar and/or the vision thing, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. Keep up the good work!
God has called me to mission work in Paraguay and Brazil. I may return to CAA someday. God bless all of you!

[i]Two vast and trunk-less legs of stone stand in the desert. Near them, on the sand, half sunk, a shattered visage lies. Round the decay of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare the lone and level sands stretch far away. On the pedestal these words are inscribed:

“My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!â€
