Nighttime;
Liquid moonbeams trickle downward
To illumine a fragrant path.
Swishes of silk and slaps of slippers
Disturb the peaceful way.
Alone time;
The young Queen with wise gaze
Wrings her slender hands.
Her crimson garb matches personality,
Passion for whom she awaits.
Delicate time;
From shadowed trees steps a man
In silver armor, black cape.
His arms encircle his Queen's waist
And lips seek her neck.
Precious time;
She gasps and sinks against him,
Pleased at his timely arrival.
She turns in his grasp and smiles
As fingers touch his face.
Required time;
"Betrothed," he whispers respectfully
And kneels to kiss her hand.
"What is your bidding, my Queen,"
He asks with upturned eyes.
Memorable time;
"Sweep me away, gentle Knight,
From the darkness of dusk.
Bring me into a peaceful world lit
By our beating hearts."
Cherished time;
Smiles brighten as he scoops her up
And off toward private alcove.
True love beckons their alike souls
To become but one.
Eternal time;
One faithful Knight and a regal Queen,
Destined lovers, mates forever.
Entwined together by heart strings
Forged of metal and silk.

I wrote this poem for my fiance quite a while ago - we refer to each others as "Knight" and "Queen". Hehehe - I hope everyone likes it!
