Burning Hell

Not really a good series, but there are only four chapters so it's too early to judge. I just enjoy the fact that none of the characters can understand the languages the others are speaking and they all keep talking anyway.

Kekkaishi

Anyone else glad to see Yoshimori's mother finally make an extended appearance? Despite the fact that she's barely appeared up until now I've liked her more than the majority of characters in the series. The fact that she's going to shed some light on Karasumori doesn't hurt either.

Bakuman

I'll limit myself to one comment on the recent chapters: I am not the target audience for this series.

A Distant Neighborhood Vol.1 by Jiro Taniguchi

I don't read much manga, but this intrigued me. It's about a dissatisfied middle-aged man who finds himself inexplicably transported back in time to his 14-year-old life. Not a mind-blowing unique premise, but the execution and art are absolutely stellar. Hiroshi's thoughts and reactions just feel so...real.

If you like Mushishi and other slow contemplative works about life, check it out.

Yotsuba&! vol. 7

I don't know if it's the new translation or what, but it doesn't feel as enjoyable as it has been in the past. Personally, I think the new translation is making Yotsuba more obnoxious. Making characters speak in third person does NOT make them any funnier or cuter, only more annoying.

I would also be reading 20th Century Boys vol. 6, but none of the bookstores that are fairly close to me seem to have it.

I just finished Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles Volume 2! Though the same events happens, I can see a difference from the anime, and since I experienced the wonders of Tsubasa in the anime FIRST, I am partial to the anime, but I still well enjoy the manga and intend to continue on through. It's kinda cool to see a somewhat different version of the same events with the same characters, still being the same story!

Steel Ball Run vol. 5

Once you get past the sheer insanity of it all, there are actually some pretty interesting characters and an intriguing (if totally crazy) storyline.

Cromartie High School vol. 8

Just volume 8. I haven't read anything else from the series, before or after and it is still awesome. At this point I think I still like the anime better though (dubbed).

Reading Jyu-Oh-Sei. Didn't even realize there was a manga for this one. The art isn't quite as lush and over-the-top gorgeous as the anime - the anime especially improved on the character designs, though I've read that the manga does get better as it goes along. However, the story is handled much better.
Rai's death in the anime was handled really poorly, and his involvement at all in the story ended by the first episode, I do believe, with Thor getting over it pretty quickly. The manga fleshes this out a bit, so that it doesn't just seem like they are killing off a character to give Thor something to angst over, make him seem beast-like, or because they realized Rai was annoying and wanted him gone...Here's hoping the whole Karim arc is done better in the manga, too. That was my other major complaint with the anime...though hearing Romi Park actually voice a woman was enough of a treat that it almost made up for it...lol.
Just finished volume 1 of Angelic Layer. To be honest, I like the anime better, the manga moves too fast and it's hard to tell what is going on, but I'll probably end up finishing it.

Currently reading "Dream Saga" volume 1, I think I'm gonna LIKE this series!

Finished "Dream Saga" Vol.1, I love it! The art is really cute, and the detail on the eyes is beautiful. Too bad it's not an anime, hopefully someday!

I read through Monster over the past few days. Good, though I think the ending was a bit of a letdown.
