wondering about a couple titles

Postby soul alive » Sun Feb 13, 2005 8:08 pm

the Seikai Trilogy and Pilgrim Jager.

just wondering if anyone has read these, or knows anything that might give me reason to avoid them, since i would really prefer not to spend $10 on coasters... ^^. looked Pilgrim up on amazon, didn't have much, but mentioned something about the occult and tarot... wondering about that. and just wondering if Seikai Trilogy is as good as reviewers have said it is.

thanks much.

:edit: please, please reply...

mmm...

if anyone has read the Seikai Trilogy and has anything to say about it, that would be much appreciated.

Pilgrim Jager is pretty new, so might not be known. i'm planning on going to camp out in Borders and see what it's like before i consider buying it... the idea sounds interesting, crusades pilgrims or something of the sort. again, if you know anything, it would be much appreciated.

Just so you know that I'm not ignoring you, I'll reply.

Okay, so the deal is that I really know next to nothing about these two series. I've never even HEARD of Pilgrim Jager. You sure it's manga? (I don't claim to be an expert, but I really much am familiar with atleast the titles of the manga published in the US.) I've only read a few pages of the Seika Trilogy, but the anime was suppose to be pretty clean. Let me go browse around for some reviews and see if I can unearth some info, k?

*returns from search* Nope, sorry, there's really not much of consequence that I've seen. I think your best bet is just to stake out a spot in your local book store and start reading.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

Image -pilgrim jager. at amazon.com (much help, eh?)

:edit: :waah!: went to borders yesterday, all set to camp out... and... it (it being pilgrim jager) wasn't there anymore (or in the other stores in town that carry manga... grr. i'll try again next week, and if it isn't in, place an order for it. i guess if i don't like it, i can always return it... *mutters to self*

the seikian trilogy was there, and i tried reading the first volume, but it didn't hold my attention for too long, but if i actually bought them i would read them.
