Green Day to re-release 1039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours

As the title says, Green Day is re-releasing 1039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours. This is, in my opinion, the band's greatest work, though it really sort of bothers me that they're re-releasing it... not for the fact that many Green Day fans will probably get exposed to this work for the first time, but for the fact that the new Green Day isn't anything like this anymore. I can't even come up with a logical explanation for why this irritates me so badly... although I might still go buy it anyway.

But yes, if there are any Green Day fans out there, I DEFINITELY suggest picking this album up. It's due out in stores on January 9th.

Eh... this is like, the third time they've re-released this.

Actually, this will be the second time they've re-released it, and this time it will be on a much larger label, Reprise records, as compared to the previous re-release on Lookout! records.
