Iced Earth - Burnt Offerings!

Postby Knives » Mon Mar 20, 2006 1:34 pm

My friend just gave me this cd, but I am a little hesitant to listen to it because it seems veryy dark, violent and maybe even demonic...but I could be misinterpreting it, can anyone help me! Is this band really dark/demonic etc?
Thanks

Burnt Offerings is a great album and I love it.

However, what you should know about Iced Earth is that they are critical of organized religion. The music is not inspired by any woship of demons or Satan. I'm not sure how you mean dark, since most metal is dark. But you should be prepared for some of the lyrics to criticize Christianity strongly.

Ok thanks for the heads up. Yah, I guess I already knew they were dark, I will just be careful when I listen to this album.

Yeah.

Musically, this is one of my favorite albums. If you like their sound, you might also try Horror Show and The Glorious Burden which are less about religion.
