Most suprising album release of the year

Perhaps one of the most surprising album of the year so far, for me, is As Cities Burn "Son, I Loved You at Your Darkest". I listened to them previous to this album and after picking it up, this blew me away. I did not expect this band to sound this good.

Totally took me off guard.

Somehow, when I saw your post, I KNEW it was going to be about As Cities Burn. I picked up the As Cities Burn album Saturday, and I have to say that I completely 100% agree. This CD is amazing but I don't think it'll get the recognition it deserves for a while, at least six months or so. However, it's fantastic. I was shocked by how good it is.

Other surprises for 2005 for me were...
Eisley - Room Noises
Gorillaz - Demon Days
Blindside's new song being good. I think The Great Depression will be a pleasant surprise.

 We think alike sometimes...

Where can you get the new Blindside song? I also think the new Mortal Treason will surprise me. It sounds awesome so far.

Though I do like the old One: TwentySeven better then the new one.

The new blindside song isn't available for download, however, at http://www.blindsideonline.com you can stream it. I think it's quite good, it's just a good rock song in the vein of Pitiful.

Hmmmm....his clean vocals have changed alooot...at least in this song.

Becoming the Archetype is also gonna own everything. That band is a freakin genius.

So yeah As Cities Burn really knocked me down how good it was.

Yeah, I really liked the way Christian sang Fell In Love With the Game, personally. His range on his clean vocals has improved dramatically, and I am still impressed with the way he can go between singing and a fairly powerful scream/shout without losing his sound. I'm, personally, excited.
