Ok, three of my good friends loved Hawk Nelson however they recently find out something bad concerning the band that made them stop.

Apparently, they discovered that Hawk Nelson does not write thier own lyrics. I don't know wether this is true or not but I am going to talk to them bout it and see where they found it out.

Does anyone know of this?

I have no idea if HN does or not...but maaaany bands do songs that are not there own. Somtimes its just a few...somtimes its all. Random music fact, the song God Of Wonders made famous by Third Day and Caedmons Call was actually written by former frontman of Common Children, current frontman of Glassbyrd Mark Byrd. Check a lyric booklet somtime. If the "written by" does not line up with the band members name...you know somthing is off. Personaly, if somthing sounds good...I don't care who wrote it. Yes its better when someone writes there own stuff....but in the end....if it pleases your ears...thats what matters right?

(Not trying to sideline this thread, as I really hope someone knows about Hawk Nelson and answers the question)

You like CC? Check out Glassbyrd. The lead singer got married to Christene Glass and started a band with her. There have been rumors for years of a CC reunion...but nothing yet. CC is probably my fav Christian band of all time. Anyway. I of all people should no better then to steer a thread off topic. HAWK NELSON. DO THEY WRITE THERE OWN MUSIC. ;)

What he said. :) Trevor McNevan grew up with Jason Dunn (the lead singer of HN) and kind of helped them become famous and whatnot. I'm pretty sure, however, the Hawk boys write most of their own music.

I just talked to my friends and they heard that HN does not write most of thier songs save for 3 or 4 of them...however they are not sure of thier sources. It's just something they heard and they still like them.

I'm Pretty sure they write almost all of their songs except the ones Trevor Mcnevan helped with (Think "like a racecar") I also heard that they have another CD besides Letters to the president, Is that true? I didn't see any other cds done by them in the Christian book store where i live. If so is it any good?

Yeah.... they do. I haven't heard it but it's called Saturday Rock Action. I don't think it was released by Tooth and Nail, though, so I'm not sure if it was indenpendent or released by so small lable that doesn't make sales in the US.
