As it so happens, my favorite Christian rapper goes right to my church. Soul Daddy is his band, and his music is really quite grand. Go check 'em out at http://www.myspace.com/mysouldaddy if you get the chance.

In my opinion, Lecrae is the best Christian rapper out there (I think Shai Linne is pretty sweet too, but I'm not as familiar with him). I mean, he sounds like a secular rapper, but his lyrics are very Christian, and he even has depth and good theology to his lyrics, which isn't always true for Christian musical artists of any kind. (Anyone who can use the word "escatology" in their song automatically gets 100 points of awesomeness XD) So many times, if I'm listening to Lecrae, I completely forget about everything else I'm doing, because I'm paying so much attention to the words. My favorite songs are "Take Me As I Am", "Death Story", "Desperate", and "I'm Prayin' For You" (the latter never fails to bring tears to my eyes). Rebel is his best album, I think.

I also like KJ-52 somewhat, but I think he kind of peaked with It's Pronounced Five-Two; his last couple of albums haven't been as good. And after hearing Lecrae, his lyrics often end up sounding a bit shallow. Still, KJ can be hilarious, and I like to laugh

My favorite rapper is John Reuben but I also like Grits and a few others. Christian rap is much better than secular rap and not just the lyrics. Secular rap songs just end up really annoying to me. They just use the same beat and everything over and over...
"Who is this?" they said to Me
'That the wind and waves obey
Come, let's hang Him on a tree
That His reign should pass away'
But here I am I say to you
Though you turn away, it is My will
To love you for forevermore
Peace be still, peace be still

Da Truth is really good and so is Lecrae. KJ-52 also. I second Grits, Toby Mac, and John Reuben.

Lecrae

Da Truth
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Also, Pigeon John has got mad flow and he's a funny guy, too. Also, the Cross Movement, particularly The Ambassador is darn good.
